My passion is Israel advocacy. I spent two years living in Tel Aviv where I attended graduate school and taught in the public schools. Although I am not Jewish, I am involved in pro-Israel organizations, Jewish and Christian, in the Atlanta area.
Shoshanna is the Hebrew name I adopted for myself while living in Israel, it means "Rose". I enjoy singing, making Judaica jewelry, dancing, writing, and raising awareness for Israel advocacy. I am involved in AIPAC, Jewish National Fund, American-Israel Chamber of Commerce Southeast, Christians United for Israel, and Israel Always.
My love for Israel was birthed in me by the Creator, Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Genesis 12:3 says that if we bless Israel, we will be blessed, and if we curse Israel, we will be cursed. I believe that now, more than ever, it is imperative that the followers of Yeshua, Jesus, stand with Israel and the Jewish people because His covenant with them is an everlasting one.
It is my desire to be a voice on behalf of God's land and His people. We live in uncertain, serious times, and it is my conviction that as Christians we must find our voice and be light in the darkness.
As Edumund Burke said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". I send out a challenge to Christians to pray and ask God how He would have them to respond to the threat of the world events that so directly affect Israel and the Jewish people.
With antisemitism and terrorism on the rise, I believe that God wants to show Himself mighty and faithful through people. He is looking for vessels who will say, "Hineh ni (Here am I)". Never let it be said of us, as it was in the days of the holocaust, "Where were the Christians?" The Church has not replaced Israel and the Jewish people. They are the apple of His eye, and He has purposed them for such a time as this.
Ahmadinejad has been compared to Haman, from the Book of Esther. Haman hated the Jews. He called for their destruction. But, God raised Esther up to be a voice. She was willing to give her life for the sake of God's people, the Jews. She was courageous and did not allow fear or intimidation to shut her mouth from speaking righteously. She was an instrument of God's justice, His faithfulness to His people.
I don't want to be a spectator in what God's doing on the earth, but a deliberate participant. There is no greater joy than knowing the Creator of the Universe, the God of Israel (Elohei Yisrael), and doing His will. For, it is He who births His passion within us. All we have to do is inquire of Him and be pliable in His hands. And His glory will be expressed and will exude through us.
What a privilege to know the Creator. To be so in love with Him that all else pales in comparison to His great love.
"For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not keep quiet, until her righteousness goes forth like a brightness, and her salvation like a torch that is burning."
~Isaiah 62:1 NASB
