TISHA TODD TESTIMONY

"I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God; many shall see it and fear, and shall trust in the Lord." Psalms 40:1-3

Tisha Todd's life is revealed in these scriptures. Her song has changed and so has her heart! She is now filled and overflowing with the Holy Spirit, who radiates His love, joy and peace through her as she speaks and sings God's Word, ministering salvation, healing and deliverance to all who hear. Her new song is to God and to His Glory!

She began singing at the early age of 2 1/2 years and was professional at the age of 12 years old. It was at that time she signed a contract and recorded her first record, Daddy Don't Say No, written by her mother, in the country and western field. She traveled across the country appearing with Wanda Jackson, Red Foley, Sonny James, Hank Thompson, Tony Bennett, among many other country greats. She has appeared on national television and radio from the time she began traveling professionally.

Later on in her life, Tisha began to realize something was missing. Something was wrong, there was a void, unrest in her life. Although she was raised in a Christian home; was the daughter of a Baptist preacher; had been healed of leukemia at the age of 4; and had professed to be a Christian for 10 years. Tisha discovered she'd never really met Jesus and ask him personally to be the Lord of her life. She had been wrapped in a cloak of self-righteousness and good works. After all, her daddy "WAS A PREACHER", she'd been touched by the Lord at 4 with a miracle of healing, and she was raised good by good parents. She never saw herself lost. She'd sang in church from the time she knew to sing, walked the isle at 12, confessed her sins???... was water baptized. TO EVERYBODY SHE LOOKED REALLY SAVED. ON THE OUTSIDE, but on the inside, something was terribly wrong.

In 1967, Tisha had a truly born again experience. A good friend came over to her house one day and ask her the question, Do you think maybe you've never been BORN AGAIN? In the living room of her home, on her knees as she puts it, "the song changed and my whole life took on real meaning. She had a Damascus road experience. Jesus had truly become Savior and Lord and in that instance she was given something to really sing about. Something that would impart life to the hearer. Real life. She experienced the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and knew what it meant to be washed whiter than snow by His blood. "Old things had passed away, behold all things became new"...

Jesus has given her a love for all people. In 1975, God called she and her husband, Harold, into evangelistic ministry and since that time they have traveled across the United States and other countries proclaiming the reality of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to broken lives. Their ministry has taken them behind prison walls,having been active in prison ministry for 14 years. She and her husband have been honored with many outstanding awards on volunteer service from the prisons they have entered. God truly blessed her ministry in song with inmates and the administration as well and many a miraculous testimony comes from inside the walls. Tisha has shared her testimony at youth rallies, churches of all denominations, on college campuses, men's and women's fellowships and has made personal appearances on national television nationwide.

The Lord allowed her to host her own television program and just recently stepped down from a weekly radio program, entitled "Tisha's Time of Praise" which was a live show aired weekly for 25 years. Thousands have tuned in over the years to hear this bubbly voice declare, "You are Special!" Her program was the longest running show in the history of the city. Being obedient to the leading of the Lord, she says saying goodbye was still bittersweet." She has been a regular on the Oklahoma All-Night Gospel Singing held in Oklahoma and had helped serve as Mistress of Ceremonies.

Tisha has been written up in Personalities of the South, The World's Who Who of Women, Dictionary of International Biographies to list some, but will be quick to tell you, the greatest book her name is written in is the Lamb's Book of Life. Everything else is just temporal.She has served as past President of local Women Aglow Fellowships International and Praise and Worship minister in several churches thru out the years. She and her husband have three daughters, wonderful son-in-laws and 10 grandchildren.

Her joy and excitement comes when she opens her mouth to sing about someone that changed her entire life, changed all her goals, set her feet upon a solid rock, united a marriage spiritually and put new meaning in her life.

Tisha has released 3 albums to date and is making plans to release a new CD. As a speaker, the Lord has allowed her to use her sense of humor to bring real life issues into perspective in a way that has made her a favorite among every group she meets.

Her testimony is powerful; the song she sings is powerful because the God she serves is powerful. You will walk away knowing you have just experienced the love of Christ in the life of a woman that was born with a song, and came face to face with the maker of that song!
