While playing in secular bands in the past, the lives of the four members would cross paths for the first time. Pat had been playing in a band called Shattered Vow. Jay and Mark were playing in a band called Tramps Next door. Shawn at the time would be too young to be involved deeply in the local music scene, and he's still the youngest of the band. Many nights the members of the two bands spent together in wickedness of that time and era in each of our lives. But the foundation for what was yet unknown and what would become a blessing from God was formed.
Many years passed and the two bands went their separate ways, changed members, and dissolved completely. Pat played in his last secular band called The Gravel Dogs. While in the Dogs, he was part of an independent CD release entitled Unmastered. The band typically was your run of the mill bar band, but it did enjoy the highlight of being an opening act for Black Oak Arkansas. This was to be a short lived adventure in the Dogs and Pat would soon remove himself from them due to personal reasons. After the demise of the Tramps, Jay would find himself playing in Memphis, Tennessee in a couple of short lived bands, and one that was within a show of getting a recording contract. Having that fall through, would be the final straw for Jay in Memphis, and he would come home to start a new chapter in his life, and stop playing music all together. Mark played in a local band for about three months after the Tramps split, and then stopped playing all together. Shawn was the only one that was spared any of this turmoil, by being the youngest of the Doss brothers, he really was to never get into the whole band thing.
Shawn would give his life to the Lord, and finally start playing music for the praise and worship team. This would be his first adventure into an organized musical setting and the primer for what lay ahead. Jay would then give his life to the Lord, and this would be the foundation of what soon be a brotherhood forged in the blood of Christ. The music bug had bitten the two brothers, and they had begun to pray for a band to form that would glorify the Lord. Unknowingly to them a headstrong singer would also be bitten by the bug, only he was trying to get back in the local music scene that he had been absent from for so long.
Now this is where it starts to get intriguing. After a failed audition with a local super group, where on arrival they had been practicing but once started into the first song, all of the p.a. speakers shut down. The headstrong singer began to wonder what was in store. After being invited to church by his soon to be wife's relatives, and witnessing The Passion of the Christ, Pat gave his life to the Lord, and eventually joined with Shawn, and Jay after a conversation in the parking lot of their church. Mark would be the last member to join, and bring the long awaited cycle full circle.
Who would have known so many years ago that Lord would have his hand on each and every one of us, steering the four of us together. Since then the four guys have had some rough times, but the Lord has seen them through it. Even when the great deceiver tried to destroy what had been formed and anointed by God, they still pressed on and continue to glorify our Lord and Savior with every song that is written.
As for now, the four members continue to further their ministry by writing music for the Lord, delving deeper in his word and ways, and as always living to glorify His name.
