In a time long ago, there was a boy named James D Harvey who God spoke to when he was 18. God gave him a choice to choose life or death and there the journey began. All of his life, even before God spoke to his soul, he had a strong desire to be a musician / singer... to change the world... to sing what God put on his heart. But then he got side tracked and took a detour due to the problems that he saw within the church (not to mention the unresolved issues in his own soul that the church didn't want to deal with)... so he left the church for 8 years wandering and seeing what the world had to offer; sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. And then it happened, the bump in the road... God used a purple situation in 1996 to bring him back unto Himself; "a message that saved me from dying".
So now I'm just trying to use the talents and songs that God has given me to touch those whom He places in my path whether it be at gigs, leading worship, thru the net, or my coffeehouse ministry - The Agora Cafe, etc.

Thanks for reading, take care, God bless and keep in touch!
In His service,
James D. Harvey

Hey there James ---
I think I am close - you are in Pottstown and I am only in Reading, which is right up the road I believe.
I'm going out of town this coming weekend -- and have something on the 17th and 24th - both Saturdays, I do believe - but other than that, I'm free - maybe even if you are interested, I could do something at your coffee shop with tracks. I don't have a band presently and have a ton of worship tracks and tracks for my originals -- let me know what ya think.
I thank you for your suggestions and will follow up...Reading is just a weird place. So, I'm very much open to travel.
not on indieheaven but will check that out as well...
thanks again - jewels

Worship is my heart -- actually the originals are like worship for me - or i've always thought of them as such --
i was on praise team for like 2-3 straight at Spring Valley - went out into the city (City Light: an outreach of SV) and started leading to track - then replanted to Hope of the Nations and have just started leading the full team, when I am given the opportunity -
i'm in a worhship class right now, distance learing through HisCall.org and have felt the call to change professions as it were to lead worship full time - (not sure why i'm sharing)
i started off as a vocal perf. major in college but was very much in the World and lost for about 16 years - so the last four has been quite an adventure - and now - 20 years later, it appears i am a music major again, this time focused upon Worship - God has brought me full circle
God Quest - i love that name
i would go anywhere too - it's my desire to go on a Worship tour eventually -
it seems very difficult here in this area to actually even get anyone to "partner" with or work with - i drove 5 hours south to Richmond to minister one P&W song and one original - it was totally worth it - but i feel stiffled in these parts --
that's awesome that you get called to other places...so it's mainly through your connections as a worship pastor that you get to go out? awesome!
until God opens up the worship pastor position for me, i will keep on walking from glory to glory --
and keep my hands to the plow
do you have any recommendations of how to connect with churches? or venues? or anything?
j

Thanks for hte info - i'm guessing the coffee house would help too --- i am looking for opportunities to minister...do not have an electronic press kit - though the Reverb Nation site does offer that -- i have a ton of websites -- jewelspetrie.com myspace.com/gemsfromthejewelrybox and i'm on facebook -- just having a hard time making local connections -- i guess i need to get crackin' on the press kit - though at this point, i'm not even sure who i would send it to...i only did two local events this summer - the rest were out of town -- where do you lead worship? - j
