General Interests
I love Comedy. I dig hangin' with funny people. I love to cook-- A big meal at my house with a group of friends is one of my favorite things EVER--If you like Texas Style Brisket and Chocolate Molten Cakes, come on by!! I think it's okay to use the word "sucks" as an adjective or a verb-- provided that the subject is indeed of inferior quality. I'd rather hike in the Rockies than lay on a beach. I love College Hoops. I wish we'd have Church outside when the weather is nice (Jesus thought it was good idea. ) I doubt very seriously that my Husband and I would find each other on eharmony--but he ROCKS. I'm super blunt, kinda loud and really Irish. but I make up for it by being a good friend, ridiculously loyal and quick to apologize. I'm not particularly forgiving, but I have a lousy memory--so I don't forgive, but I do forget. Jesus rocks, and the rest is just background music.
Music
Switchfoot (Stars-- Acoustic Version, Love it), Chris Tomlin, Parachute Band, "From the Inside Out" is the song that God is slappin' me around with at the moment. I work with Sr. Teens-- So the music they praise God to works for me-- except RAP. I'm just too old and too white to go there.
Books
"Velvet Elvis", "Blue Like Jazz". I get more out of The Message than my NIV ( Paul isn't the least bit afraid of a run-on sentence, huh??) January 9th is the furtherest I've ever gotten in "My Utmost for His Highest. " and if you gotta read all 453 of them-- I'm gonna get "Left Behind. " I recommend Francine River's series "The Mark of the Lion" series to everyone, as well as "Redeeming Love", which is an allegory of the book of Hosea. IT AMAZING. Tony Campolo's book "Adventures in Missing the Point" is fantastic. "Soul Survivor" by Yancy kept me from leaving the Church a few years ago. I'm currently reading "Sex God" by "Velvet Elvis" author Rob Bell. But I won't tell ya how it ends.
Movies/TV
I love "The Closer" and "Future Weapons"--- (How are we not moppin' the freakin' FLOOR with all this firepower?? )
