Battlecry (2007 Single) (2007)
Battlecry is being released on Dan Lee?s private label Megalight Records as a limited edition CD single. Produced by Dan Lee, this studio track was completed July 7, 2007. Clocking in at 4 minutes & 12 seconds, it is the song Dan Lee wrote when he formed Steel Witness during the summer of 2006. In mid June 2007, he and guitarist Jeremy Lockhart entered the studio and started work on it. Lead vocals, guitars, and drums were completed the first night?s session. Then on July 6th, finished by recording the backup vocals with Paul Tucker on bass. The final mixdown was the next night, July 7th, 2007. Since its debut, it has been compared to early Petra, Whiteheart, and Queen. At the same time, others say it stands alone?original. But all in all, it is classic Christian metal of the 80?s. On July 11, 2007, Tim McGill, youth pastor of Sumiton Church of God, located in Sumiton, Alabama, played Battlecry to his Wednesday night class and had them judge it. One to five, it received four point one quarter stars. Not a bad beginning...
