My Soul Cries Out (2007)
Monica Harris-Day's perfect world begins a downward spiral the afternoon she comes home to find her husband in bedÂ…with another man.
After confronting Kevin, her husband of two years, Monica discovers he's had a lifelong struggle with homosexuality that began at the age of ten after he was molested by a deacon in the church. For years, Kevin has sought deliverance, crying out to God to make him straight. He explains his deceit by saying that he thought he had truly been delivered, but was afraid to share his past with Monica for fear she wouldn't marry him. Kevin begs Monica's forgiveness and wants to save their marriage. He is convinced that God has indeed delivered him from the spirit of homosexuality and that the one time mistake was just his past coming back to haunt him.
Their pastor offers them marital counseling, but Monica suspects he's really concerned about maintaining his mega-church - it's grown to 10,000 members since Kevin became the minister of music. When the pastor swears them to secrecy and urges Monica to stay in the marriage, she thinks Bishop Walker isn't willing to risk the potential scandal and church split that would be caused if the truth is leaked to the congregation.
My Soul Cries Out is a compassionate look at the issue of Christians struggling with homosexuality and the redemptive power of God to bring deliverance.

About Sherri Lewis
I love to do anything that allows me to express myself creatively. I love writing fiction and finally got someone to pay me for doing so. I like to deal with real life issues affecting people. My characters are real, so they do stuff that real life people do. Check out my website and read the first chapter of My Soul Cries Out at www.sherrilewis.com

I also love to write music and to sing. Hopefully me and my favorite producer will be getting together soon to get some stuff recorded.

My greatest passion is to express the reality of the Kingdom of God through the arts including music, dance, film and television, and literature; and through sound biblical teaching. My ministry thrusts include the message of the Kingdom, intimacy with God, intercessory prayer, understanding prophetic ministry, ministering emotional healing, and birthing individuals into their destiny.

By day, I work as a physician at a Georgia women's prison. Can't wait to write and share stories from my experience there.

Greetings Sherri,

I am so amazed at how talented you are in the name of Jesus! God is really working in action in your life praise God. I am with you- when you speak on preaching the Kingdom of God. In essence, that is what's missing in many churches today. In my opinion, the power of religion today has really reduced the reality of God big idea for us and his purpose for earth and for his children (us). The only message that Jesus preached was the Kingdom of God, and many pastors & ministers today, fail to evaluate and continue to preach what the Messiah preached which was the Kingdom of God. Another point I wanted to touch on is being born again. It's clear that heaven is a government (country), and God is the King of that government (country) and we are his citizens as the earth is the territory, and the Bible is our constitution of law. So being born again restores you back to God's original idea as quoted to renew our minds and the Kingdom shall be added unto you. I must admit, when I read your opening statements in your profile about preaching the Kingdom, it really touched me. And because of it, I am revitalizing my ministry focusing in on what God wants before he decides to return for his children. In the book of Matthew 6:33 it says Seek Ye First, the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all of these things shall be added unto you. In this verse, God states clearly what we need to do in order for us to receive the Kingdom here in earth. God doesn't want us to bring earth to heaven; he wants us to bring heaven on earth through his children (us). People should look at us and see a reflection of heaven through our lifestyle, how we walk, how we talk, our intellect so on and so forth. I do thank you for listening to me Sherri, and I truly apologize for writing you a book but I read your (about forum) and got inspired. Well, on that note may the lord continue to work in your life as he is in mine, I praise and thank God for you Sherri and if there is one thing you can remember, remember this: When I count my blessings, I count you twice. I thank you Sherri and I love you keep your faith strong.

Stay Blessed!
