Shawna's authentic lyrics, inspirational message, pure presence, and soulful vocals meet the audience in a personal way that some have called, "motivational music." Shawna Ray is a follower of Christ who respects and embraces various approaches and walks to life. She is a communicator, singer, songwriter, and author. Shawna's mosaic music has a fresh sound that stretches the genre box with a mix of folk rock influenced by blues, funk, jazz, and gospel sounds. Her debut album will introduce Shawna's inspiring passion that comes from real life experience and a heart longing to build bridges and empower unity in this world. Her heritage includes Irish and Native American cultures, with Spiritual influence flowing through everything she does. Shawna is also the author of the children's book, "TAKE A TRIP TO DIVERSE CITY." The original was self-published and released January 2007 by Winters Press and a special edition with national boy band B5 is now available through the publishing company Shawna founded, Rhythm Ray Inc. The book comes with a CD with B5 narrating the book soundtrack and a sharing with Shawna Ray on a song that sets the book to music with added chorus. Shawna has a degree in Public Relations and has worked in development, community relations, and as a trainer in the areas of disability and diversity awareness with United Way, Goodwill, and All Together ONE.

PROCEED WITH PASSION is the first single that Shawna originally wrote on a friend's graduation card, and BUTTERFLY is an autobiographical expression of her journey as a divorced single Mom and late blooming music artist; both produced by Justin Glasco in Nashville. Writing and singing were always hidden hobbies until 2005 when Shawna went through a painful and unwanted divorce while still grieving the loss of her father to cancer. Shawna was inspired to finally share the songs that had narrated the journey; with a desire to help others facing similar struggles. Shawna Ray shares openly, "At first I didn't know what to do with all of the songs and book ideas that kept waking me up at 3am begging to be shared. I kept telling God that he must have gotten the wrong person because I was a broke single Mom with no outlet for these creative juices. But they have paved their own path in perfect timing and I have discovered my true passion and purpose as a bridge builder in the process. My kids have been my biggest encouragers and we share the book as a family"
