I'm a retired schoolteacher who, after 31 years, decided to say, "Bye-bye, Students!" and "Hello, Writing World!"
It's been an interesting, exciting, challenging, heart-wrenching, and inspiring adventure to say the least. One thing I know--God dropped a seed of passion for writing in my heart back in the summer of 2000, and He's been growing it ever since. Who else in her right mind would jump out of bed in the middle of the night just to run to the computer and finish a scene that all of a sudden comes together in her head?
I have two wonderful daughters and two handsome sons-in-law, but the joys of my life (besides my sweet, darling husband, Cecil) are my adorable grandchildren, Dylan, born March 21, 2006, Gavin, born March 3, 2008, and Alexis (Lexi), born July 1, 2008!!! Needless to say, Cecil and I are having the time of our lives with these precious gifts. Check out my photos to see some family pics.

Dear precious Shar, I just now read (with tears) about Dakota - - I am so very sorry, sweet friend. I certainly do understand how difficult it is to lose a pet--they truly become part of our family. I also read a more recent post you wrote about possibly getting a puppy - - I think that's a WONDERFUL idea! I've always heard that when a person loses a pet, they should not wait too long before getting another one (helps with the grieving process). Keeping you and Cecil in my prayers - - I'm sure Dakota knew he was VERY loved. With hugs and love, Patti Jo

Hi Sharlene. It's a pleasure to have another friend on shoutlife. You are right, Linda and I have been writing back and forth and she is a joy to have as a friend. Michigan is just on the other side of the Lake from me so we're not far from each other at all. That's pretty cool!
Orfordville is just about 10 miles north of the IL stateline in the middle of the state of WI. It's really small, just a village of about 1200 so it's not a surprise that you would ask where it is.
