sandy cathcart is a freelance writer, photographer and artist. She has published several hundred articles and photos in national and regional magazines. Sandy and her husband, Cat, work as cook and guide for 4E Guide and Supply, a wilderness outfitter. She writes about The Creator and everything wild. Her column "Our Neck of the Woods," has long been featured in Oregon Fish and Wildllife Journal.

sandy thrives on a spirit of adventure and lives in the heart of elk country, regularly trekking, packing, hunting, and fishing the wilderness. She has long volunteered with the historical society in her rural community and as a counselor for at-risk and troubled youth in a wilderness program.

sandy has traveled extensively, fishing the Sea of Ohotsk in Far East Russia, sailing over Lake Baikal in Siberia, cycling the backroads of China, rowing across the rivers of Vietnam, swimming in Israel's Dead Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, trekking across Peru and Haiti, and hiking across Lantau Island. She and her husband raft rivers in tahitis, hunt deer and elk, ski cross country and downhill, canoe marshlands, track antelope across the desert, fish rivers and lakes, sailboard and water ski, climb mountains, hike on a daily basis and just about anything else there is to do in the outdoors.

sandy's believes the heavens declare the glory of God. She uses her writing to bring readers, both Christian and those of the general market into an awareness of that reality. Finding solitude in nature, she believes the very breath of God blows upon the wind.
