The heart of RiseUp Ministries is to share the mystery of the gospel with a lost and dying world. We are founded upon the Bible, specifically the book of Ephesians, which clearly states these truths: 1) salvation comes solely through the grace of God, 2) it is God's will and purpose for believers to be united in a spirit of love, and 3) the body of Christ is called to demonstrate His love to others and to wage war in the spiritual battle taking place between the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of God. In order to accomplish these objectives, we seek to unite those who are passionate about serving the Lord and to spread the message of the Gospel every place that we are able. The motto of RiseUp is "Take a stand against the kingdom of darkness and love the lost into the Kingdom of God."
In order to further fulfill our calling, we believe that it is imperative for the church to recognize the importance of spiritual warfare. Satan is actively seeking to destroy our nation and to turn the hearts of the people from God. As such, the body of Christ can't afford to sit idly by and forfeit the authority that God has given us. As the Word says, we are to "pluck others from the fires of damnation." At RiseUp Ministries, we believe that the time has come for the saints of God to become trained and equipped to stand up against the evil of this dark age and to declare the Word of the Lord fearlessly. It is time for believer's to make use of the most successful war tactic available to us?prayer. It is time to show Satan that we are confident in the power of God and His presence in our lives. It is time to demonstrate His love and mercy to those who have not experienced His salvation. It is time for the church to unite. It is time to rise up.
On a personal front, we (Logan and Traci Merrick) are preparing to take a step of faith and follow God's prompting to begin a journey throughout the United States sharing the gospel. After much prayer and fasting, God has placed within us a deep conviction that we are called to evangelize. Our mission will begin in 2009 as soon as the Lord provides all that is necessary. We will be taking our son, who is currently 20 months old, with us and would appreciate the prayers of all who share our heart for reaching the lost.
