Mike and Darla Cornell have served in many churches as worship leaders, musicians; they have collectively been in music ministry for nearly 50 years. Most recently God has called them to step into a full time ministry of their own and step down from their positions as associate and music Pastors at Liberty Christian Center in Bakersfield, CA where they had served for the past 7 years.
Mike and Darla have been immersed in ministry from an early age. As young children they traveled and sang with their respective family ministries in churches around the United States and Hawaii. In addition they have developed over the last 21 years, their own ministry as music evangelist. This ministry has taken them to many places but most notably to the Island of Antigua, West Indies and then to South Africa for the last 8 years. Mike and Darla realize that the ministry they have been entrusted with is not about accolades and notoriety, but it's about changing lives and ministering to the brokenness of people in this world. However they have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to open for some of the very best in Southern Gospel Music, such as Legacy Five, Palmetto State Quartet, Lisa Daggs, (from the Gaither Homecoming video series), The Gaithers, The Hoppers, and many more. In "1999" they were fortunate enough to win 1st place at the "Great Western Quartet Convention" in Fresno California and then win again at the "National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY. talent show case. When not out ministering in churches throughout the state of California and Tennessee, you will find them actively involved in their home church.
Mike and Darla's desire is to help, God's people and those who do not know Him yet, to draw closer to Him and have a deeper walk and passion for Christ that is more than just a fleeting experience, but a life changing alteration that will last forever. Darla also ministers to those women who have or are suffering from issues of stress, anxiety and depression, she speaks encouragement to those in need.
Their hope is that through the ministry God has entrusted them with, by using the talent God has placed in them, that through their music lives will be changed.
