Influences:
My main influence in writing would have to be my relationship with Jesus Christ. I love to read the bible, I love history and I love delving into and researching those two connections. I want to bring biblical characters to life, so that the reader can know God in a personal way. Of course there are various authors that have influenced me as well, but there are too many to mention!

About Laura Davis
I am a former singer/songwriter with a music ministry that lasted for over 30 years. Due to a botched surgery several years ago, my vocal chords were damaged. However, God works in mysterious ways and I found myself writing.

My book, "Come to Me" (ISBN #978-1-4357-0556-2), is about the life of Christ through the eyes of His mother. Throughout the book you will see the theme of surrendering to God as Mary relates her story to the Apostles Luke and Matthew. In fact, surrendering was one of the reasons why I wrote this book. It took a long time for me to say 'yes' to God, when I saw Him leading me in the direction of writing. I wanted my voice back! Unlike Mary who readily accepted the Lord's plan for her, I argued! I'm so glad that I finally surrendered.

One of the areas that I feel the Lord is drawing me to write about, is bringing biblical characters to life. My next book, "Upon This Rock", will feature the struggles of Peter and the early church.

If you would like to hear more about my story and my book "Come to Me", I invite you to watch 100 Huntley St., where I recently made a guest appearance. You can watch the program online here: http://www.crossroads.ca/broadcas/program.htm . I was on April 7th, 2008
