H2Ochurch.tv began in Ada, Oklahoma in November of 2005. The purpose was to target the "twenty-something" generation, creating a worship environment that would attract young adults who do not yet have a relationship with Christ as well as those who do.
In March of 2006, H2Ochurch.tv began testing a new system of sharing the Word of God by utilizing some resources of LifeChurch.tv in Oklahoma City. In the words of LifeChurch Pastor Craig Groeschel: Small towns often present tremendous ministry opportunities. We are working on an experimental model. LifeChurch.tv is assisting H2Ochurch.tv in Ada, Oklahoma (population 16,000). H2Ochurch.tv is its own organization led by Pastor Barry Worcester. This church is experimenting with taking Life's teaching via satellite. We are very excited about the possibility of sharing resources to reach more people.
In January of 2007, H2O's Leadership Team determined that God was calling them to facilitate the establishment of more campuses using their model. Beginning April 1, 2007, H2Ochurch.tv called David Delker as Lawton Campus Pastor and began gathering the Lawton Core Group.
Throughout the summer of 2007, the group worked to grow, establish outside the walls mission opportunities and gear up for an official kick-off. September 23, 2007, the Lawton Campus launched with 100 people in attendance at the Great Plains Technology Center on West Lee Boulevard.
Today H2OChurch.tv Lawton is one of four autonomous campuses sharing the same model and mission, and in January 2009 we will be celebrating as we relaunch in our new location at 10th and F in downtown Lawton. This new location will open up awesome new ministry opportunities and give us a permanent footprint in the community.
