Above all other things... God, His Word, & His Kingdom!
Also, in my very little spare time I enjoy reading, writing, pc gaming, and outdoorsy stuff like hiking, canoing, and skiing. • I love animals - especially cats. • I could say hanging out with my husband is of general interest to me, since there's not a "specific" category here. :) Spending time with my very sweet cat would also fall into that specific interests category.

|
|
Modern Praise and Worship is my absolute favorite • I also like almost anything from Enya to Avril Lavigne to the Beatles • Third Day • Rebecca St. James • MWS • And I can listen to almost any power ballad a hundred times over in a row.
|
Absolute Truth and Key to Life - The BIBLE isn't just a book, it's the very WORD of GOD to us!
I like reading Sci-fi/Fantasy, Christian Growth, and Christian/Church History, as well as, ancient historical/cultural books that explain origins and meanings to things in relationship to God and people groups.
|
I love musicals, old and new alike, in fact, I've never seen a musical I didn't like - Moulin Rouge is my all-time favorite movie
(of course I have to stop it at the end of chapter 33 - I'm all about the happy endings!!) • Other notable musicals would include Fiddler On The Roof and My Fair Lady
I also really like historical fantasies, which means The Lord Of the Rings trilogy, naturally! Sci-fi movies are also up there on my favorites list - way too many to list; Star Wars and Star Trek makes up a big bulk of it • Comedies are also always good, particularly CGI animation movies • Random others worth mentioning: North & South: 'Books' I & II, The Mask of Zorro, SpiderMan, and the first Matrix.
As far as TV goes... mostly, I'm a huge Sci-fi fan:
Stargate Atlantis is a given, Firefly, Lost, the new Battlestar Galatica, the old Doctor Who, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer also make my top Sci-fi TV list.
Non-Sci-fi TV:
(closet Shatner fan - well,...
not so closet anymore!)
never fails to crack me up, plus, who can resist the incredible adorable-ness of Marshmallow & Lillypad?!?
My newest favorite has got to be

Both Monk and Psych are great too! Older shows I think should never go off the air are Little House On The Prairie, The Waltons, and The Dick Van Dyke Show.
And seriously, who on earth has this much time to spend on this much TV?!?!?... TV will suck you in and spit you out if you let it.

My name is pronounced "Jay". Some people see the accent mark and try to read my name with a French accent attached to it. :) Nope, I'm 100% American. (The é is ALT + 130 on your number pad, BTW)
I'm a Spirit-filled Believer in Christ Jesus • Happily married to my wonderful husband, Barry (13 years and counting) • I'm a momma-friend to a beautiful cat named Grey (who is 19 years old now) • Occasionally I'm a free-lance graphic and web designer • I'm currently in school full-time at Biblical Life College & Seminary, but since one of my highest passions is studying Scripture and GOD in all His revealed aspects, I'd say that my spiritual education is more of a career than a life phase for me.

I trust in ALL of GOD's Word, so I try to promote and encourage others to be devoted to Jesus, the Messiah and Son of GOD, rather than to a denomination or church organization. We are the body of the Messiah - let's fit into His mold and not fit Him into ours! When we come together in His name, let us do so only to love Him, learn from Him, and love each other! He is our King!

It is impossible to truly understand GOD's Word without the Holy Spirit. The Word of GOD (from which the Spirit of GOD imparted to us) is spiritual - and therefore must be interpreted and taught to us by the Author Himself, Who is Spirit. Study the original languages, and use the historical & cultural wisdom, of course, but always filter out your own opinions and perspectives so that you can be led by the Holy Spirit, Who brings Truth. The Spirit of the living GOD dwells within believers to guide us, empower us, and seal us in Christ forever - let's learn from Him!

It's amazing to me how much of GOD comes out in human creativity (obviously we get that from our Father Who created us) I can see Him in the "secular" as well as in the "Christian" wherever there is truth, the reality of Him shines through. I think worldly entertainment can callous you to spiritual things, but I also know that GOD can use anything to reveal His heart to the one who's seeking Him and listening for His voice. So when we keep our lives in balance, we can easily value any story without letting it get in the way of our own.

I'm late in posting this blog, I'll admit - as the festival of Unleavened Bread is nearly over now. I've been so busy, but I thought I'd go ahead and blog my study about it anyway.
Right now is a time of celebration so thick with layers to its sp...

Vows

Marriage has been a topic on my mind lately. When it comes to a legal institution in a secular society, you'd think the wedding vows wouldn't be so spiritual or so permanent. Now days, vows are modernized or customized a bit, or written by the bride ...

The Festival of Lots (Feast of Purim) is one of the most festive Biblical holidays; essentially it is a two-day party with family and friends. The Festival commemorates a major victory over oppression when GOD's people living in Persia were saved fro...

Today's the day most believers in America mistakingly celebrate Christmas on the Winter Solstice as well-meaning contemporary tradition has taught and shaped the Western world into believing. Now it's nearly downright un-American and non-Christian to...

Happy Birthday Je'!
No weapon formed against me shall prosper, for my righteousness is of the Lord. But whatever I do will prosper for I am like a tree that is planted by the rivers of water.
Stay Blessed & Happy,
