Jordin Sparks, American Idol 2007 -- She endorsed my teen series, The Pathway Collection. Not only is she a remarkable singer, she is also a very sweet, sincere girl, and a wonderful role model for other teens. I'm so glad she won!
Other music I love:
Carrie Underwood
Sarah McLachlan
Evanesance

Drowning Ruth, Back Roads, Circle of Friends, Prince of Tides, Ladder of Years.
Current reads: Speak and Go Ask Alice.

I love almost everything movie Sandra Bullock is in. Television? Don't really watch it. Most shows are horrible enactments of the decline of values in the world. But with a toddler in the house, Word World and Super Why are great. Right now, I prefer Talk Radio to stay up-to-date on what's happening in our nation.

Maggie Come Lately (2007)
(Teen Fiction) Maggie isn't exactly popular. In fact, she's pretty much invisible. While most girls are going to parties with boyfriends, she's busy acting as mother and housewife to her two brothers and father. But what she really wants is to be noticed by her brother's friend Webb. Unfortunately, he's dating the school's hottest cheerleader.
When her sixteenth birthday comes along, Maggie makes a wish: Please, Lord, let sixteen be a great year; let me be pretty and popular and let Webb . . . it's too big a dream to even put the rest into words. Then she hears a noise in the woods that she can't ignore and takes a path that changes her life forever.

My Beautiful Disaster (2007)
(Teen Fiction) Hanging out with Heather and Tammy, the most popular girls in school, has changed Dixie's life. Every weekend is filled with shopping trips, pizza, and parties. But no escapade compares to the night the three of them sneak out to see a hot new band. When Dixie catches the eye of lead guitarist Vince Evans, she's in heaven. He's so suave, so good-looking and mysterious, that none of the boys at school begin to measure up to him. Dixie thinks it's love at first sight, and there's nothing she wants more than to be Vince's girl, no matter what it takes--until his nice-guy façade slips away and she realizes his act doesn't end on the stage.

Pretty Maids All In A Row (2006)
(Romantic Mystery co-authored with A.H. Jackson) Partners Tori Roche and J.B. Kale set out on a madcap adventure to a medieval inn where they are invited to solve the famous nursery rhyme murder mystery surrounding the 1785 massacre of twelve women--"pretty maids all in a row." As they begin gathering evidence to write a best-selling novel to save their publishing house, Tori finds her family lineage has more to do with the present than she anticipated. When more dead bodies keep falling in their path, it becomes obvious that the ancient murders are tied to a treasure that people are still dying to possess--and it's not the heirloom diamond that the guests of the inn are searching for. What happened on these old sacred grounds? Will Tori and Kale escape the secret passages alive? And why is the notorious Mary-Mary still quite contrary?

Wife, mother, freelance writer, columnist, and novelist.
I'm the mother of five. Life is hectic! Amid the laundry, cooking, errands, and schooling, I write women's fiction and young adult fiction. My stories revolve around contemporary issues and tend to be edgy with imperfect characters who often make wrong decisions despite their faith.

It's been a long while since I posted anything on here. Life is busy. But I shall try to come up with some witty things to post. In the meantime, it's back to writing while the house is quiet.

Do you think we might ever reach the point of not being able to write what we want? That the freedom of speech might fail us? That we won't be able to reflect our Christianity in our writing?

I've been asked to play this tag game naming eight odd things about myself and getting eight people to do the same. So here goes:
1. I write in the middle of the night.
2. I have five dogs.
3. I keep a pot of hot tea simmering all winter long.
4....

Growing up in Canada, I think I must have had the most fantastic Christmases of anyone on the planet. The kick-off for Christmas season was the tree-hunt. Everyone in the family--all eight of us--went. We walked through the farm fields around our cot...
