About Me
Hey there. My big brother, Frank Creed, gave me such a bad Indian burn that I had to make a profile here at SL. Thanks for popping by. If you like to discuss religion and philosophy, be sure to start up a conversation--I'm game.

I'm married to my best friend--just the way it should be. He's a philosophy major and, boy, do we have great conversations! I have two children that my life revolves around. My daughter is 19 and moved this spring to Atlanta to get away from the cold of Northern Illinois. My son's 16, and is pursuing a future career in acting.

Since I was around nine years old, I've wanted to be an anthropologist, but never quite made it. A close runner-up for me is English. I love writing--especially short fiction and poetry. I've also written several children's plays. I'm currently working on an adaptation of Sleepy Hollow.

My relationship with God is ever-fleeting. Is He really there? Does He actually have a personal interest in His creation? Are universal morals His work or simply the result of Homo sapien's adaption of survival of the fittist? If there is a God, is Christianity the correct religion? Isn't it arrogant to believe it is? Was a man who sacrificed his life really the key to every soul's salvation or was Jesus merely a prophet to be respected for his teachings? Could it be that different gods of various religions are really the representation of the same god? Is the fact that because all cultures have a spiritual doctrine or moral code and a creation story proof enough that God exists? Shouldn't folks who lead a good life following the Golden Rule be included in salvation?

I have befriended some who do have a relationship with God. That is why I keep a Shoutlife account.

Cheers!

My SL friend, Lisa Holloway, posted the following blog to which my reply follows: The Obama Conundrum Tuesday, October 28, 2008 - 10:04 PM Rather than hi-jack my own (other) blog to continue making Obama quips, let me just put it out there... (login or sign up to read more)

Grandma's Gone--Stream of Thought   10/28/2008 - 11:14 PM
My brother and I became best friends in my grandma's backyard. We had a sandbox and a swing set, but we tended to gravitate toward the trees instead. He in the crab tree and I in the shorter cherry tree. He would pelt me with fallen crabapples. I nev... (login or sign up to read more)

Step Ladders--A Short Story   12/07/2007 - 9:50 PM
This is a short story I wrote a few years ago. Although "image" is the overall theme of Step Ladders, I've recently heard some real-life stories of financial hardship that remind me of other aspects of this story. Step Ladders seems an appropriate co... (login or sign up to read more)
