Created and played keyboards full time in s self contained band called 747 Orchestra which is still in business today, (http://747orchestra.com) This group performed approx. (4) nights a week in local clubs and private parties. Accompanied Maxine Brown at the Sammy Davis, Jr. Telethon.
Attended Berklee College of Music (Arranging and Composition Major). While there I created and managed a band called "Kuumba" and played at local night clubs and bars in and around Boston.
Created my first New York State corporation called "Concepts in Creative Productions". The company was a service company that recorded performing groups from different organizations like church/high school choirs/orchestras/musical groups to provide albums to be sold for fund raising.
During this time I was also touring as a keyboard player for the following groups:
- George McCray (Rock Your Baby)
- Gwen McCray (Let Me Be Your Rocking Chair)
- Ecstasy Passion & Pain (Good Things Don't Last Forever)
- Blue Magic (Sideshow)
- The Moments who later became - Ray, Goodman and Brown (Love On A Two-Way Street)
- Sister Sledge (We Are Family)
- Van McCoy (Do The Hustle)
- And more?
I also formed a sound reinforcement company incorporated as "Leprechaun Sound". We provided pa systems for night clubs, cabarets, and concert halls.
Also formed and managed a new group called "Leprechaun". We started playing in local night clubs and meet the producer for Kool and The Gang, Gene Redd. He started recording the group and we released a hit single in 1982 entitled "Loc-It-Up".
We still managed the sound company locally by employing local help and training them.
Touring with Leprechaun I was managing schedules, itineraries, rehearsals, and road staff.
