Janey DeMeo is a Christ-follower, speaker, author, freelance writer, pastor's wife, mother and founding director of Orphans First, a non-profit ministry to suffering children in the world: www.orphansfirst.org. She received her M.A. from Luther Rice University, is British, speaks fluent French and "poco Italiano." Janey writes for The Examiner (San Diego verion).

Author & Freelance Writer -- Janey is the author of several non-fiction books and booklets providing biblical perspective (in both French and English). She has also contributed to many compilation books for teens, parents, women, etc. and wrote part of Sexually Exploited Children (Marc Publications). Janey's parenting book, Heaven Help Me Raise These Children!?Biblical Direction for Practical Parenting Issues, is both a 22 chapter reading book and a workbook offering practical and spiritual insight: www.carepointministry.com (Scroll down & click on PARENTING). Janey's writing on diverse topics has appeared in many Christian USA publications including: Discipleship Journal, Focus-on-the-Family, Brio, Breakaway, Single Parent, Indeed (Walk-Thru-The-Bible), Charisma, Sports Spectrum, World Christian, Pulse and Assist News. She has also been published in several European publications including Donna di Donna (Italian), Concepts (French), and l'Amandier (Swiss), and she wrote regularly for a French-Swiss news magazine, l'Avènement for several years. Janey's writing has also appeared in a Korean publication.

Speaker & Teacher -- Janey taught for twenty years in the Theological Institute of Nimes, France (founded by her husband, Louis), and headed up their women's ministry. She then taught at Calvary Chapel Bible College in California for two years. She has taught women's seminars and women's groups in many countries including: France, Italy, England, Switzerland, India, Holland, Romania, Hungary, Ghana, Togo, Gabon, Central Africa, Canada, USA.

Missionary & Mentor -- Janey and her family were missionaries in France for 22 years, where they planted churches, a theological seminary, a Christian day school, an outreach to underprivileged and Muslim children, and a surf ministry. In late 2003 the DeMeos moved stateside. Janey often travels with Louis to various mission fields teaching, mentoring, initiating outreaches to suffering children and complementing Louis' ministry to national leaders. The DeMeos have also worked with the Helsinki Commission and U.S. Congress to combat religious discrimination and persecution in France.

Family -- The DeMeo's daughter and son were born and raised in France. They also have a son-in-law and enjoy mentoring young people. Compassion for orphans, suffering children, street children, neglected, and abused children birthed Orphans First ?a Christian organization with orphanages and programs for street children in several countries, and a prayer chain comprising hundreds of voluntarily prayer partners. Much of Janey's writing relates to prayer, parenting, the plight of suffering children although she also writes?and speaks?on many topics (see list below).
