We came to Alabama, in 2006 from Tupelo, Mississippi because we believe this is where God wants us to be at this time in our lives. There is so much liberty here. Lots of Christian influences and loving people.
Our church meets in the middle of a golf resort! We have an epic little white country chapel which is secluded and surrounded by two mountains. The special thing about our church is that its a new inter-denominational Christian fellowship with a blended traditional and contemporary style. If you agree with the Apostles Creed, then you can worship with us. We have "relaxed dress" code so you can feel relaxed while you worship the Lord.
Jesus often withdrew from the crowd to be alone with his Father. Our experience at the creek is special each time we attend, and we feel so refreshed and renewed. We have lots of special music and visiting speakers. Our pastors messages are encouraging and challenging to all believers to walk closer with God and daily share faith our neighbors all around the community.
Twila and I use the gift of music to worship, to minister, and to encourage believers in knowing our God more intimately. Music can touch the heart at all times because it is a sacred language; a gift of God. It should be used to glorify the Godhead, not hidden and wasted.
My favorite Christian groups are Crossway, The Martins, The Talleys, Beyond The Blue (disbanded), and Selah. My favorite style of music is bluegrass music. Bluegrass is about 72% gospel and the rest is like a story from your Grandpa. Ricky Scaggs, Doyle Lawson, Nickle Creek, Isaacs, Diamond Rio, Allison Krauss, Cumberland Clan, Seldom Scene, and the Osbornes are my favorite bluegrass artists. Music is usually what I turn to when I'm feeling sad, or seeking God. Some turn to prayer or the word. But to me He speaks through music so clearly.
Come visit our fellowship sometime when you need a break. The church website is at http://thegolfchurch.com. Praise to our God!
