About Austin Vallejo
Austin began his musical journey at the tender age of 13, when his audience consisted of a basement full of relatives and close friends for family functions. Even at such a young age, it was clear that this was what he was born to do: "My parents made me perform all of the stuff they had heard me blasting from my room at all hours of the night. Which at that time consisted of Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton and lots of that '90's alternative rock that every kid learns how to play guitar on."

For Austin, music was the one thing he could not seem to break away from. He matured as a musician and performer playing in local coffee shops, bars, clubs and most commonly in church. Around the age of 18 he became the worship pastor for Rock Church of the Quad Cities, where he discovered the depths of what it really means to be a worshiping musician. "The danger in being 'paid to worship,' is mistaking that which is holy as commonplace," Austin recalls. "In response to this awareness, I deliberately began to challenge myself. I began to see God everywhere and equally as present outside of the familiar context - within the walls of a church."

This fresh outlook has served as a creative muse for Austin, launching him into a new season of songwriting. The heartbeat of his newfound identity is to connect with people through three elementary concepts/subjects: love, life and music. "Music is often the soundtrack to life. My hope is to create something innovative that people can identify with," speaking of his currently untitled forthcoming project. "It's one thing to be influenced by other musicians, but it's another thing to try to recreate what somebody else is doing or has already done. My hope is to tap into something fresh and unique."
