About Michelle Greene Wheeler
Hi All!
I have lived here and there, but it seems that I can't stay away for very long from the town where I was born, Spruce Pine, NC.

I was born-again at age 11, so my story should have been one of continuous blessing and joy, but as so many others, I went my own way through my teen years and beyond. I made some mistakes, and fell down many times, only to realize that I could never make it without Him after all.

If my life could be summed up in the words of any song in the world, it would be "A Heart Like Mine" by Bryan Duncan.

I am married to a wonderful man named Adam, and I have two children, Tiffany and Austin.

Since rededicating my life several years ago, I spend most of my time trying to use the gifts and blessings that He has bestowed on me for His glory. I write inspirational/devotional columns for a couple of local newsletters as well as a regional christian newspaper. I also write christian poetry, lead worship and sing alone, and am involved in ministries through my church.
I have recently begun a new endeavor: Appalachian Portraits. Check out my website at: www.freewebs.com/appalachianportraits!

I am also currently beginning the process of starting a non-profit organization which will plant Cross Carriers non-denominational women's groups anywhere and everywhere there is a need.
Cross Carriers is for women and girls who are lonely, depressed, under stress, confused, hurt, troubled, or just need someone to talk to. My vision for Cross Carriers is that these groups will be a place where women can come together in a trusting environment of fellowship with other women and share their burdens, learn Godly principals about how to deal with everyday life, lift up one another's friends, family and own concerns in prayer, grow deep, lasting friendships among fellow group members, and love and support one another as Christ would have us do.
In the near future, I would love to see Cross Carrier groups in (but not limited to) various churches, other public housing complexes (as the first chapter now meets in such a complex), in women's prisons, in shelters, on university campuses, and junior chapters planted in high schools.
If you would be interested in learning more about starting a Cross Carriers group in your area, please send me a shoutmail, and I will send you the information that you will need to begin one of these wonderfully ministering groups when we have everything set up and ready!
