About DOUG EDGELL - NEW CD AVAILABLE NOW!

Self-funded recordings released on his own label DGEMusic, a successful entertainment group The Edgell Brothers, and music lesson to 50 students per week, Doug Edgell is the consummate independent musician.

Although he earned a degree in classical guitar performance, Doug Edgell has chosen the path of singer-songwriter for his latest offering "Ghost Inside My Memory". Listening to Doug's songs is like meeting up with an old friend. There's a familiarity and comfortable feeling about them. His music is inspired and engaging, infused with genuine life experiences and observations, reflecting a journey of exploration and soul searching.

The music on "Ghost Inside My Memory" ranges from the hard driving "Another Day" with a retro 60's organ, to the hauntingly beautiful "Block out the Sun" with acoustic guitar and a string quartet. Layered textures of intricate guitars and piano, alluring lyrics and memorable melodies, his honest and accessible songs are both intimate and universally appealing.

Entrepreneur, composer, guitarist, singer-songwriter and music instructor.
Doug Edgell is living his dream.

As of October 2007 we're extending our services to the Film / T.V. music market. If you are seeking music for an upcoming project we would love to hear from you. REVIEWS / TESTIMONIALS...

Doug Edgell's 13-track record, "Ghosts Inside My Memory", is a pop/rock collection that showcases Edgell's approachable vocal and a sweeping/modern AC production value from Don Maue. The title track pushes Edgell's falsetto at the top of the chorus with flavors that remind us of Richard Marx and Daniel Powter. One of the highlights of the record is "Block out the Sun" - the acoustic intro and harmonic progressive choices have a Beatles tinge, but moves into something a bit more modern and contemplative. There's a sad yet hopeful vibe that works well for the range Edgell shows in both his writing and vocals. The supportive strings are dramatic and emotional as he sings, 'love can be hard, it can get you down, don't let it spoil your fun. .don't let it block out the sun'. We hear influences from America's "tin man" to Steve Miller's "joker" in other tracks, rounding out the overall singer/songwriter pop sound that grew out of the 70's. Even so, the clear and clean modern production takes those influences and fine songwriting ability and brings them current. Edgell hits another fine note in "10,000 Angels", as we find him again in the form of 'sun' - acoustic guitar introduces his vocal bare and vulnerable which is where his strength resides. "For You" is another gem on the record and the dramatic production, again, is AC radio-ready. Edgell leaves us with the medium grooved, "Fool 4 Life", a tribute to living life as perfectly as possible - without cynicism and 'with my spirit free. 'a fool 4 life'. The optimistic and overall sweetness of the CD reveals the artist and he confirms his contentment with being that fool until he's done - leaving behind kind and thoughtful music. Well done.

Thank you too for a great time! We all really enjoyed listening to you and your brother. We are big fans and it made the party extra special for Dan. See you both at Siba's soon! Thanks Again, Karen

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much I have enjoyed working with you. I had heard great things about you from folks whose opinions I value, but I must say you've more than lived up to the advanced billing. As a relatively new player that was floundering a bit, I am finally getting the direction I was looking for. You are really offering something unique, and for someone who isn't afraid to take the deeper dive, your system is a perfect blend of technique and theory with immediate application in playing real songs. What really sets you apart though is the clear explanations and the sense that it's all leading somewhere. I look forward to working with you for a long time. All the best Doug!
Phil

I have been taking lessons from Doug for the past three years during the summers whenever I'm home from college. After graduating this spring I hope to continue with these sessions. I had only recently begun playing the guitar when I first started taking lessons from Doug, but I could quickly see acceleration in my playing abilities. The decision to take lessons from Doug has been the best decision about playing guitar that I have ever made. He has no only taught me a lot about how to play, but he has also increased my appreciation for music. I would recommend taking lessons from Doug to anyone who is interested in improving his or her guitar skills. You can see his background is extensive with all of his schooling and experience, but he also has a talent for teaching. He makes sure that you're having fun while learning. He has never tried to force me to learn anything that I wasn't interested in. It is inspiring to talk to him and watch how he is able to play, every session I leave with an added passion to play my guitar.
