Hi folks. The Cliff Notes summation of my life: The totality of my misspent youth involved music. From the time I started learning guitar at 12 almost every moment was spent playing and practicing. That is until I hit 30 (and I mean HIT IT). At that point, realizing I had no marketable skills or attributes,I knew I needed to grow up, sell all my stuff, and get a real job. Instead, I became a paramedic with EMSA Ambulance in Tulsa, Ok. I'm still doing life without parole as a communications supervisor.
During this time, I met my wife Elaine(she wasn't my wife at the time), and we created a family with Yahweh's help and gentle guidance. I spend most of my time away from work with her and our 7 kids (see my pics).
We are Messianics, and believe that both new and old testaments of scripture are equally valid and in force. We call God Yahweh, and Jesus Yashua, because those are their Hebrew names in the original manuscripts.
A couple of years ago I felt moved to start playing again, and I bought a little bit of recording stuff. It's such a joy to be playing again, this time for the glory of Yahweh. My family also plays together and does lots of gigs in the area.
My desire these days is not for a career in music, but just to enjoy music again, and praise Him in the process.
I do enjoy collaborating with other musicians and writers (The Other Woman was co-written via internet with Joe Runyon at Double-Edged Music), so if anyone needs a little guitar or bass assistance, look me up! I work cheap.........
Time is always tight, so I'm not getting a lot of writing done these days, but as a I find time to write and record, I'll post more.
Thank you for reading. I'd love to hear from any of you that would like to share your stories. May the joy of Yehweh be on you all.
(P>S- Elaine is a classically trained cellist...give us a holler if you need a cello track on your songs).

Most of us with children, spouses, jobs and other responsibilities find it hard to find time for making music. How do you do it?

Hi Dana,
It doesn't matter whether you're Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Conservative, or Liturgical you need to be aware of what God is doing in these days through the Messianic movement. The more we understand the roots of our faith in Judaism, the more we can understand what God wants us to know to make that faith grow.
It doesn't matter whether you like rock, country, contemporary, gospel, or hip hop, you need to grow in your musical tastes, and sample the rich tapestry of Messianic Jewish music that is available today. To that end, I would like to introduce you to two amazing Messianic artists, whose musical style is very unique, and totally wonderful.
Deborah Kline-Iantorno's music springs from her Jewish and Puerto Rican roots, and her years as a night club singer. Her songs are exciting, her voice is gorgeous, and the message she brings is right on.
Straight from Jerusalem, Israel, the songs of Rivka Whitten are alive and fresh. Her music is a unique mix of Yemenite Israeli vocals along with rhythms from around the world, and a gifted group of instrumentalists.
Please come on by, and check out a couple of amazing songs that I have put on my page, then you can go to www.newfaithfavorites.com and listen to all of them.
Thanks,
Jim

INCITE: Compassion
We all know the story... After a time of careless living the prodigal son returns to the home of a loving father who awaits him with open arms.
Just as this father welcomed his son, at the heart of God's plan of redemption is a father's heart of compassion. Who, regardless of your history, waits for you with open arms.
Link 2 us and be inspired.
