In only 4 years as an independent band, WILLET has sold over 10,000 records, adopted 3 villages in Africa, found sponsors for over 1000 orphaned children, funded a missionary to Haiti (Jeremy's wife), released 3 albums, and performed over 1000 concerts around the world. Combining melodic vocals with heavy guitar sounds and symphonic studio production, this band from Westminster, MD tours internationally full time performing over 200 dates per year. Founding members (and brothers), Jeremy, Justin and Jordan Willet now tour with the recent addition of drummer, Caleb Douglass. In addition to releasing all three albums worldwide, the band has delivered worship songs for congregational use in North America through CCLI. Following success from WILLET's first national radio single, 'Wineskin', the band is currently touring on their new release, Somewhere in Between (May, 2009) with radio singles, 'For orphans and The King' and 'War and
Unfortunately no I do not live on the east coast. I am MUCH farther north and more west. I live in Anchorage, Alaska where it is REALLY cold right now. Christmas is REALLY Christmas here.
Now a lil word to the wise, Alaska is an open market for bands. We have a harder time of it getting bands to come so when ever they do, and you can get the churches to back you, then it is really good for the bands. Plus, we tend to goto the events we CAN get here.
For example, I like third days music ok, I never thought of them as any better than the next band but when they came up here and played at the Sullivan arena, MAN! It was sold OUT!
I sat back and thought; "Third DAY? HUH?"
But of course I am an old Stryper and Bloodgood fan so what does an old dog know ey?"
But, we get SO many secular events up here that we are sort of poor on the Christian side of things. It would be REALLY nice if we could get MORE Christian Bands up here.
Rebecca St. James came up and premeired her movie "Sara's Choice" and THAT venues was PACKED! Sold OUT at Anchorage Baptist Temple which is an arena sized church.
I am telling you guys that Christians make up a lot of the population up here but we have so much trouble with getting the bands to come.
Soo, it might be a place ya might considder maybe comming to visit.
Alaska is sort of different in that, the first time you come, it might not be that much at first. Folks wanna know they can trust you. So they send others to come but ONCE word gets around that you are the real deal, then the flood gates open up and the folks come on out and show support or, the churches all back you. That's how it is up here.
Again you guys got a GREAT sound! Keep it up man!
One person I would refer you to is Mrs. Becky Hanson. She is the Alaska state rep for KLOVE Radio and they sponcer most of the Christian concerts that do come up here. Also KAFC Radio is our own local christian music station. They team up sometimes with KLOVE radio with Becky and will many times pool resources to get bands up here. That's how we got Skillet and Jeremy Camp to come on up plus others.
So hey, ya might consider it and develop a following. Could prove good and go well with you.
I love the Christmas music with a rocky edge! I love Christmas music anyway but this just goes to prove that you can have rock music that can still glorify our Lord and Savior! God Bless you all.
Hmm... I dotn have a minute at the minute but I would love to check out your profile. Laurie has told us a little about you and your band!! Can't wait to listen to the music and read about u guys! Hey shoot your prayer requests my way!!! -Beverly
