The BIBLE.
Also,
"Christy" and "Julie",
which were both written by Catherine Marshall.
I don't read many novels,
but I'm currently reading a memoir by Lauren F.
Winner.
It's about the author's journey or conversion from Orthodox Judaism to Evangelical Episcopal Christian.
So far it's a pretty good read,
but she does have a few crazy ideas about Christianity.
She's honest though,
which I like.
It's a journey,
after all.
And then since I'm a newlywed,
I've recently read a few books on Christian marriage.
A few I would hands-down recommend include: "Love and Respect" by Emerson Eggerichs,
"Sacred Marriage" by Gary Thomas,
and "The Most Important Year in a Woman's [Man's] Life" by Wolgemuth/Devries.
All three of these books are FANTASTIC!
I also love books by Don Miller,
John Piper,
John and Stasi Eldredge,
Elizabeth George,
Nancy Lee DeMoss,
Max Lucado,
Oswald Chambers,
Stormie Omartian,
Donna Partow and others.
Even stuff written by David Crowder!
Also,
Jeromy has been taking some online theology courses from Bible.
org (Michael Patten/Rhome Dyke),
and I've sort of been going through them with him.
So lately we've been reading some stuff on bibliology and hermeneutics.
It's been really good,
but your brain starts hurting after a while!

So it's not just Tara anymore....it's Tara AND Jeromy. It's weird talking about myself without talking about my amazing husband. I am originally from Minnesota, and he is from West Virginia, but we both moved to Southern Maryland for work. Our story is kind of crazy, and you can read it in my archived blogs, but we technically met on Myspace (no joke) before we met in person! I was church hunting (not "husband hunting"!) when I first arrived here in September of 2005, and somehow I found Jeromy's page and asked him if he knew of any good churches in the area. And the ironic part is, Jeromy had been driving right by my house every day on his way to work and we didn't even know it! Although neither one of us was in "dating mode" at that time, we suffered what we call a "collision". It's our way of saying we sensed between us an inevitable connection. Actually, it began as a string of enlightening discussions about Don Miller, John Piper, Calvinism, and Arminianism. I love it! So then we formally met a few weeks later at a local cafe called the Coffee Quarter, and have been inseparable ever since! Married August 12, 2006, we continue to reside in Southern Maryland. Jeromy works as an electrical engineer for a Navy company, and I work as a child care referral counselor at a local resource center. Not sure how long we will live here, but we thoroughly enjoy our new life together, and are confident God is working in our hearts.:)
