Since Carrigan is only eleven years old and is still growing in every aspect of life. I have to share a little bit of my testimony of what God has done in my life as her mother. When Carrigan was two years old my 19 year old niece was in a car accident. She lived for four days in ICU before going to Heaven in June 2000 on Father's Day. As you can imagine my heart was shattered. It felt like I hit a brick wall. I could see life speeding on beside me but I felt like I was in slow motion. God showed me a verse during my reading of the Bible that just jumped out at me. Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God. That told me that it was okay to not know how to react or say but to just be still and that I was in God's Hands. My niece loved music. She sang in the choir at Wagoner First Baptist. She sat in the front row in the center. It was so difficult to go to church and see someone sitting in her spot. I stopped listening to music during my 10 hour commute to work each week and at home. God had always used music to speak to me but music also brought joy which was hard at that time.
Thirteen months later... after September 11, 2001, when Carrigan was three years old she attended school where I was the speech pathologist. The music teacher, Angela Yount, taught the whole school America The Beautiful to sing at the Veteran's Assembly that November. She sang it for her Nanny and we all got such a kick out of it. Her speech was so bad that those big words were hard to understand. Well that lit a fire and a passion to sing with Carrigan. As the school talent show auditions approached, Carrigan wanted to sing. I reluctantly took her to find a song. For me it was a hard job to help her learn a song. My heart was just dragging through it. As she began to sing more and more, God began to heal my heart with her singing. Carrigan has such a passion to sing with the gift God has given her. As each opportunity comes and the doors open for her, I continue to be amazed how God is using her. That is why her verse at the top reads "triple AAA". God continues to bless her Abundantly Above All. Continue to pray for wisdom and guidance as we continue to be obedient in what God has for her.
