Flying Grounded: My Spiritual Triumph Over Female Bullying (2007)
Research-backed memoir about spiritually overcoming girl bullying/relational aggression.
Tami McCandlish is the author of Flying Grounded: My Spiritual Triumph Over Female Bullying, a research-backed memoir about how Jesus Christ helped her cope with the devestating effects of girl bullying. Girl bullying, which is also known as relational aggression, is a form of emotional and psychological abuse that involves indirect tactics such as alliance building, rumors and gossip, backstabbing, exclusion, betrayal, dirty looks, whispering, silent treatments, and cyber-bullying, among many other behaviors. Tami has been on all sides of relational aggression, but it was her role as a victim that led her to understand just how hurtful this behavior can be. Through Flying Grounded, Tami's purpose is to lead girls and women to Christ so that they can cope with relationally aggressive emotions and situations. Tami believes that it is through Christ that girls and women can find the self-love and forgiveness needed to lift each other up instead of drag each other down with covert aggression. Tami is also the founder and president of The Triumph Organization, a nonprofit dedicated to dealing with female bullying through awareness, education, and tools that promote healthy communication and competition among girls and women.
