General Interests
After working my 9-5 job as an over-the-phone Spanish court interpreter, I enjoy spending time with the love of my life, Gene, who's been my devoted husband for 31 years. I also volunteer with Campus Crusade for Christ's online evangelistic outreach by replying to Latinos who have contacted them. At the end of the day, I so enjoy a cup of cinnamon apple herbal tea and while comfortable in a soft chair, I listen to Karen Kingsberry's books or Francine Rivers' stories.
Music
Latin music. If you play Salsa, Cumbia, Cha Cha Cha, Tango, or Cueca (the typical dance from Bolivia) I cannot sit still. You'll find me dancing even without a parnter. Life can be a melody of adventures even when you cannot see!
Books
Books by Karen Kingsberry and Francine Rivers.

Trials of Today, Treasures for Tomorrow (2004)
"'Trials of Today, Treasures for Tomorrow' is a factual book that reads like great fiction.Written in a warm, informal style, the book reads almost like talking to an old friend. It will pull you in and compel you to find out what happens next to this courageous woman." --Mary Connealy, Lyons Mirror-Sun

A port in a storm?. "When we are confronted with life's painful struggles, relief can only be
found through an experienced encourager. Thank you for being that port in a storm for so many. Jan has used the unimaginable in her life to make our life manageable."-Dr. Ben Lerner, New York Times best selling author of "Body by God"

Must share with friends..."I've been reading 'Trials of Today, Treasures for Tomorrow' a little each day when I did my Bible reading first thing every morning. It is such a
spiritually uplifting book that I will be eternally grateful for the gift. I have
promised it to a few friends and will want to read it again myself."--Marjorie, Canada

About Janet Perez Eckles
Janet Perez Eckles is an inspirational speaker, writer and the author of "Trials of Today, Treasures for Tomorrow" a true story of triumph, victory, and success.

"My goal is to inspire, move and challenge audiences to begin a closer walk with the Lord." Janet explains, "Through His grace, I achieve this by sharing illustrations from my own life-the journey from pain to peace, from defeat to determination and from sorrow to serenity. Trusting in Christ's guidance, I open my heart and relate true stories and examples that cause my audiences to laugh and cry. But more importantly, they're touched by God's faithfulness."

"If you're facing storms, struggles or just the issues of life, let me show you the radiance of hope. The same hope and peace I found after facing my own storms-- losing my sight, infidelity, my youngest son's murder and the acquittal of the man who killed him. These events threatened to cover my life with permanent gloom. But when determination replaced despair, and faith overcame fear, God used my heartache to build stepping stones to triumph."

"What adds richness to my life is the opportunity to connect with you. My goal is to use the wisdom I've gained from my own experiences to help you achieve the same peace that fills me on a daily basis."
