"Money and material items are a lousy way of keeping score". I have heard from more than one person regarding this statement and the comments are mixed. I have been in church a long, long time. I have been in small churches and the larger ones and one common thread that seems to be apparent in certain individuals is that they don't seem to talk passionately about how blessed they are until they come into some sort of financial gain. It's almost as if they wait until money comes into the picture and then decided to tell everyone how good God has been. Was God not good before the money? If so, where were all the praises then? I have even heard it said that the real proof of God's blessings is whether you are living in financial prosperity or not. Let's keep this in mind and in perspective: God will give you the desires of your heart if you are in His will and doing right by His Word. It's not everyones desire to be rich in material things (worldy things). Some of us have other desires. "For where your treasure is, there your heart shall be also". Matthew 6:21. It's easy to see where someone's heart is by looking at their fruit, their checkbook, or credit card statements. Treasures such as a loving spouse, disciplined children, health, a modest home, a noble profession, and loyal friends are the real treasures. It almost seems trivial to include "money" at the top of one's list of priorities.

"One Love" by Jonathan Pierce;
A single heart,
Groaning for its own creation.
Then gave itself to suffer in our place.
A living sacrifice of one
would be the price for all.
Enough for every nation,
Every walk of man.
Enough for all our shame,
Enough for all the darkness in our land.
With one love,
Heaven changed the world forever.
And no heart will ever be the same.
One hope was born to save us,
and one maker lives to make us stronger
with one love.
A single soul
pouring out itself to heaven
can bridge the gap to reach eternity.
If every one of us will join
together, love as one, there'd be
enough to reach the nations.
To fill these city streets
Enough to make a difference.
Enough to feed the hunger and the need.
Enough to reach the nations.
To fill these city streets.
Enough to make a difference.
Enough to feed the hunger and the need.

I have been a shoutlife member for over 2 years now. I have met some extraordinary individuals like, Jennifer, John, Cyril, Alaina, and the list goes on and on. You know who you are because you stop by often and give me words of inspiration that frankly I can't find in my non-shoutlife life.
My hobbies earlier in life included, professional modeling and beauty pageants.
Currently, I am married to a wonderful man. He's a homicide detective. Yes, it's CSI stories in my house everyday. I have always said that anyone can make money if they really want to, doing most any job, but none more noble that what my husband does. I'm proud, can you tell?
I have one child from a previous marriage and a step son, Austin.
I have one parent still living, my mom and a great step-dad Robert who still
live close. My brother Lane, lives in Atlanta and my only sister is local.
I am self-employed as a photographer. Working part-time works for me. Working a few hours per week gives me the time I need to cook, clean, help my son with his homework and get involved with my son's classroom field trips and such. Some women love the full-time gig but not me. I could stay home day in and day out and never get tired of it. My home church is such a blessing, TLCF
(The Lighthouse Christian Fellowship). There, I teach Sunday school ages 8-11 years old.
I am a published writer, not an author (yet), and have written for city newspapers (Madera Tribune), corporate newspapers (The Teammate) and originator, publisher & editor of The Harvest church newsletter. Recently, I took some time off from public writing to express my love through a novel. For the last year and a half I have been working on my first book. In it, I share about my life of physical abuse at the hands of those who claimed to have loved me. I write about divorce and how the church is not equipped to deal with it and much more about self esteem of women and why people live beneath their God given rights and standards. I am looking for a completion date sometime in Spring of 2010.
I'm a strong supporter of any association that is against domestic abuse toward women. I'm against all abuse in general! However, often time's domestic violence goes untreated and ignored by family members, friends, and faith based religion. Mainly because it is such an intimate personal offence, most feel they don't have the right to get involved. It's without a doubt an ethical decision that's why so many struggle with whether to speak up or to stay deadly silent.
I love Catalina Island and visit my family there every chance I get. It's really where I belong. Where I am most at ease, most at home. I am simple and down-to-earth. I appreciate unpretentious people. I'm not impressed by those with money or credentials hanging on the wall. I'm impressed with people who are genuine, who don't mind being vulnerable with a good friend, and those
who "keep it real"!
Read my blog to get a taste of what my book is about and to learn a little
more about me. I am also an environmentally wise Christian
(yes you can be both don't let anyone preach to you differently).
Let me know what you think.
God Bless,
~ Danielle

When you get a minute, I hope you'll pop over to my Shoutlife profile and my web site to see what the good Lord has had me doing since He convinced me to trade my guitar and microphone for a computer.

Happy Birthday Danielle!
No weapon formed against me shall prosper, for my righteousness is of the Lord. But whatever I do will prosper for I am like a tree that is planted by the rivers of water.

PS. A lot of folks who know I am training to be a pastor wanna always know what my church believes and what our core values are. So I have them in a new blog. Stop on by and check out my new blog entitled "KC churches beliefs and core values." A lot of folks always quiz me on these, so here they are in a blog for everyone to check out. and YES I am a Pentecostal, so yes I do believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. I always have to say that because folks pic ya apart until you say it and then they either disagree or agree. :) Praise God
