General Interests
The heart of the Father, SCUBA diving, music writing and arranging, praise & worship, computer geek stuff.
Music
Bryan Duncan (both solo and NehoSoul era), Brian Bates, Rebecca St. James, Hillsong. Having come from a largely secular musical experience and "upbringing", there are still some artist that I hold esteemable: Gino Vannelli, Basia, David Pack, to name a few.
Books
The Bible (many translations) and anything that analyzes the translations as well as the historical traditions of the periods the books of the Bible were written.
Movies/TV
The Passion of the Christ was the most moving of any film I've seen. The Matrix trilogy has so many spiritual analogies and underpinnings that I could teach a bunch of lessons using those films as the starting point.
Groups

About Me
Ah, yes, the interesting turns a life takes. I was saved at 17 in an Assembly of God church and started right off as drummer/singer for the praise & worship team. Then, as so many of us did, I got "worldly". I joined the Air Force, traded in drums for keys and had quite a bit of success in community theater and a number of Top 40 secular bands, as well as being a vocalist for the Air Force Tops in Blue. Eventually, God got my attention again and said,"Okay, you've been playing in the dirt for long enough...time to put it to work for Me again". Now I've sort of come full circle. I lead adult and youth praise & worship in addition to the drama department. And I couldn't be more happy if I wrote the story myself. God continually shows He's faithful even when we're not.

Our Youth Praise: Intro to the Spiritual   2/27/2007 - 1:22 AM
One of the things I try to deposit into our youth praise team is the Levitical heritage they walk in. It's an awesome responsibility when you think about it. And it can be discouraging when you're new to the craft as a musician or singer and you're... (login or sign up to read more)

Youth Praise, stepping into their anointing   2/10/2007 - 1:33 PM
When I was approached by a couple of the members of our youth ministry about mentoring a youth praise team I have to admit I was apprehensive. Not because I didn't want to do it. Because I remember myself as a teenager and I've observed the youth s... (login or sign up to read more)

Know why you believe!   1/20/2007 - 11:36 PM
As leader for our youth praise team, I often get practices side-tracked into discussions about things the kids have to deal with every day, usually at school. One of the most common issues that comes up is defending the faith. They not only run int... (login or sign up to read more)

How do I get to Carnegie Hall?   1/13/2007 - 12:50 AM
As the old joke goes, "Practice, practice, practice". Cracking the whip with the youth praise team isn't the most fun thing to do, but sometimes necessary to keep them focused on the task at hand...you know, like learning the song. Or fine tuning i... (login or sign up to read more)

Ah, yes, the challenges of leading youth praise...   1/10/2007 - 8:58 PM
As the kids started straggling in, a couple them broke out into the "I'm tired" contest. Okay, we're talking some high schoolers, here. In the meantime, at 44 years of age, I'm running (literally) circles around them, getting stuff up and running f... (login or sign up to read more)
