Set Free (2007)
Urban Gospel Artist James Daniels returns with brand new musical offering. Slated to hit record store shelves on September 4, 2007, Set Free is an eclectic mix of urban gospel music suited to soothe the soul of the hurting or lost.
Featuring the lead single "Believer", the project showcases Daniels as a proficient rapper complemented with thoughtful and reflective lyrics. With help from vocalist Liz Adams, the lyricist raps over a thick beat and a catchy hook declaring the awesomeness and the faithfulness of God. Stepping from MC to vocalist, "Real", another strong urban cut, opens with a well-known scripture, Psalm 118:24, "This is the day that the LORD has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it." "Don't Pass Me By" grabs the listener from beat one as Daniels sings about the need for God. Other strong cuts include the bouncy, inspiring "Hold On", the slamming "What's Your Position" and the CD's title tune, a hip hop masterpiece featuring Ason.
