A New Promise (2007)
The story of a family in crisis, A New Promise tells the story of the Parnell family's struggles to survive the devastation of a wife and mother's affliction with Huntington's disease. As his adolescent children experience difficult adjustment issues, their father is barely hanging on, wondering why the God they'd loved and trusted has abandoned his family.

About Julie Eller
I'm a wife, mother, grandma and author who recently relocated from Seattle to the Nashville area. Having spent my life thus far in Washington State, from farm girl to city girl, I'm transitioning back to rural life and am loving it! I hadn't realized how stressful my life had become until my husband's corporate relocation led us to the rolling hills of middle Tennessee.

There's something about hayfields, corn fields, wheat fields and grazing cattle that speaks to a country girl's heart, especially a country girl who writes stories about rural living. The Lord has answered a need in both our hearts (self and hubby) and has led us to a place where we can slow down a bit and remember some of the simple pleasures in life--the aroma of a freshly-mown alfalfa field....the sound of a train whistle splitting the night air rather than emergency sirens....

Besides working as a medical transcriptionist, I'm trained as a chemical dependency counselor, and as a phlebotomist (the person who comes at you with a needle and a smile in the lab). I discovered, following my counseling internship, that my own experiences with addiction in my husband and child were too close to allow me to counsel others effectively, and have come to realize that the Lord allowed this experience in my life in order to help groom me for the ministry He's led me to.

You can visit my website, www.Julieeller.com, to read more about my experiences with codependency, faith, and what I've learned about recovery in general.

And finally, I've been writing "seriously" for about nine years. My first book, "A New Promise" released 9/11/07. The Lord has just been soooo good to me, and has opened all the right doors in His perfect timing. I'm so excited to see what He has in store for the future.

PRAISING THE LORD THIS MORNING   4/28/2010 - 6:57 AM
Late last night, after months of increasing frailty and illness, my dear Aunt Dorothy joined her Lord and Savior in her heavenly home. Aunt Dorothy, and Uncle Art, were an enormous part of my formative years. They farmed a few miles from our own farm... (login or sign up to read more)

Just popping in really quick to say goodbye to everyone for a couple of weeks, until we're settled in Tennessee and back on-line. There were times that I thought this day would never come--and it isn't actually today, but the move is in progress--... (login or sign up to read more)
