About Sonivek Productions
The name: Jon Lawhon. The game: voice-over talent.

How y'all? Sorry, I'm from Georgia so I had to throw that in.

Well, let's see...About me: I'm a 47 year old Christian, married, parental, working-class, music-loving, chess-playing, movie-watching, news-reading fat guy with insomnia.

I operate a home-based production studio called Sonivek Productions. Some people ask about the name. Well, "Soni", of course, has to do with sound. And if you read the last five letters of "Sonivek" backward, it spells "Kevin", my middle name. I just tried to think of something that no one else can claim and would be relatively simple.

Anyway, I've been doing voice-over work and character voices for many years. I love helping out radio stations that need a voice for commercials, public service announcements, imaging, etc. I also enjoy lending a hand to churches and Christian organizations who need a voice for whatever special or ongoing projects they may be working on (plays, cantatas, videos). And singing groups...if you need a concert spot, I'm your man!

For about a decade, I was part of a ministry team called Prime Example. I partnered with Fred Passmore (of Sheeplaughs Records fame) and we wrote and performed Christian comedy sketches. We saw wonderful blessings in the form of lots of souls being saved. In addition, we had some success with a few radio singles, our most prominent one being "Attack Of The Monster Tongue", a comedy song about how gossip can wreak havoc in the church. It reached the top 100 singles in the nation on the Singing News chart. Our comedy albums are still available on Sheeplaughs.com. The site is also a GREAT resource for Christian comedy and drama scripts.

I've also done quite a bit of broadcasting, having been an announcer and producer for a number of radio stations in GA and FL. I've also been a youth pastor and evangelist.

As for my family, I'm married (over 20 years now) to an absolutely wonderful lady named Pam. And we have a terrific and very talented 15 year old son named Ryan. AND...we reside in a small town called Port Wentworth, right outside of Savannah, GA.

It's great to be a part of Shoutlife! Thanks to all of you who have welcomed me into this community with open arms! It's great to be His!

I'm still going forward with the children's CD project. It's been on hold while trying to round up the proper voice talent. One of the stories is by Beatrix Potter, which I feel is more suited for a female voice. I've got a promise of help but it'... (login or sign up to read more)
