Although I am working as an insurance manager at a doctor's office right now, I am a teacher at heart. I taught public school for several years, (one year in a one-room school!), homeschooled my kids for 14 years, and I now teach medical transcription at our local community college. I enjoy teaching, and would someday like to teach a small private Christian school.

My family is very important to me. I enjoy my four children, who range in age from 13-23. My oldest lives with me while attending community college, the next has a trailer in my backyard and is just changing jobs, the two youngest are still in elementary school; one of them is homeschooling. I find it difficult to work 8-10 hours and day and still be an adequate parent--as I'm sure most single parents do!

Church is a big part of my life. I play the piano at my small (but growing) Christian church. I am so thankful for my Christian family; they have supported me through some very rough times.


Creative Spiritz

I have been a church musician since I was in the 7th grade. I have played organ and piano and I enjoy singing also. So I have a great interest in praise and worship music. I love many of the old hymns, but also find much of the new music very vibrant and worshipful.

As for secular music, classical is great. The oldies from the 60's and 70's are favorites of mine and I listen to them when I wish a dose of nostalgia. :) My kids turned me on to country a few years ago, and I really like some of the contemporary country music.

Big topic for me! I read a lot; I am rarely without a book in hand and 3 or 4 on the nightstand in process. I take it slow with the deep, spiritual stuff, but I like a lighter read with Christian fiction. I really enjoy some older stuff like Grace Livingston Hill, and Lucy Maud Montgomery (author of Anne of Green Gables). I like to keep up on what is happening in the area of junior fiction, because I'd like to write for that group someday, when my life gives me a bit of spare time.

I'm not a big TV watcher, but I enjoy a good movie now and then (although it seems that a really good movie is hard to find nowadays!)
