James Edwin Jones was given a guitar for his 12th birthday. He soon began writing his own songs. His father was a Baptist minister, which put musical expression at James' doorstep. He played in church services, nursing homes, and rescue missions. At the age of 17, he worked with his father's international radio broadcast as audio engineer, announcer and co-producer. When James was 19 years old, he played his first professional concert. At the age of 22, he was a Regional Category Runner Up in a national songwriting contest. At the age of 24, he built his own recording studio. He's been a singer, songwriter, guitar player, guitar teacher, studio owner, sessions player, and author. He's had songwriting contracts with publishers in NYC and Edmonton, Alberta. The session work he's been involved with has been distributed to over 50 countries. His music was performed throughout Europe by Canadian performer, R. Harlan Smith. His music has also been used on Spanish television.
James has had the privilege of working with other songwriters and performers by networking with them in their mutual musical pursuits. He's helped to mentor others in their songwriting and performing endeavors.
James considers it a great honor to use his musical talent to write songs that are an honest look at life. God has certainly been good to James in allowing him the chance to have his talent be recognized, used and shared with others. It's a great honor to be blessed by God in his pursuit to express himself musically.
