About Riddle on the Harp
"I will express my riddle on the harp." PS 49:4

This phrase gripped us when we were looking for a name. We are a group of three women who already were involved in our church worship team, but wanted to take the gift of music into our community. We found ourselves deeply drawn to the sound of celtic music in particular, though we also have found many other genres that we love to play. As our enjoyment of the music shone through, doors started opening in many new directions.

Now we praise the Lord, the creator of music, with our instruments and our hearts as we find ourselves hired to play at many secular festivals, weddings, coffeehouses etc. We play quite an assortment of celtic jigs and reels and waltzes, yiddish tunes, hymns, original songs, Latin music, etc. This new "extra" ministry we have is a way to let God's Light shine through our love of music, our lives, our instruments, and our joy wherever we perform.

God continues to do miracles in our midst. In March 2007 we were contacted by the local ABC television station for an interview during St Patrick's Day weekend. Our prayers were answered that they did not edit out our references to God as the reason for our music!

In April 2007 came miracle number two - the local National Public Radio station wanted to do a radio interview. The interview aired on WVTF 89.1 FM as part of the "Studio Virginia" program on May 31. We KNOW that these doors are not opening because of who we are, but because of who HE is.

So, it seems we all should keep making music and keep enjoying it! He will be faithful to lead and to open (or sometimes shut) doors as needed!

You can see the TV clip if you're interested (IE works best to view)

Hi Ladies,

It doesn't matter whether you're Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Conservative, or Liturgical you need to be aware of what God is doing in these days through the Messianic movement. The more we understand the roots of our faith in Judaism, the more we can understand what God wants us to know to make that faith grow.

It doesn't matter whether you like rock, country, contemporary, gospel, or hip hop, you need to grow in your musical tastes, and sample the rich tapestry of Messianic Jewish music that is available today. To that end, I would like to introduce you to two amazing Messianic artists, whose musical style is very unique, and totally wonderful.

Deborah Kline-Iantorno's music springs from her Jewish and Puerto Rican roots, and her years as a night club singer. Her songs are exciting, her voice is gorgeous, and the message she brings is right on.

Straight from Jerusalem, Israel, the songs of Rivka Whitten are alive and fresh. Her music is a unique mix of Yemenite Israeli vocals along with rhythms from around the world, and a gifted group of instrumentalists.

Please come on by, and check out a couple of amazing songs that I have put on my page, then you can go to www.newfaithfavorites.com and listen to all of them.

Thanks,

Jim
