Hailed by many as the 'Jimmy Buffett of contemporary Christian music', the music and writing style of Nashville recording artist Bill Mallia has been influenced by his travels throughout the Caribbean over the past two decades. The result is happy, feel good, sunshiny tunes with overtly Christian lyrics. Unique amongst performers in this genre, the act is billed as "Christian Entertainment" and concerts are often reported to be "the most fun a Christian can have while wearing an Aloha shirt". This means that with Bill, fans can expect to get a lot more than just music.
A Note From Bill --
I've watched news reports on people that have just won a pile 'o cash in some big lottery and they are just wearing that same silly grin that we all had back when we received our first big box of 64 crayons. I mean, they're fired up because they now have all the money they could possibly use for the rest of their earthy-based years.
Meanwhile, I'll meet up with a gang of folks that have turned their life over to Jesus Christ - people that now, not only have a direct, personal relationship with their creator in this life, but also have the opportunity of spending eternity in paradise with Him as well. Oddly, I often see somber faces. I've even heard comments like, "Oh, back before I became a Christian, I used to have all kinds of fun, but I'd never try to do that now." YIKES!!! What's wrong with that attitude?
While, it is true that Jesus told us that, as His followers, we'll need to (and I'm paraphrasing here) pick up our cross and fall-in behind Him, he never said we have to lay down under the weight of that cross and do snow angels! You see, plugging into the power of God through Jesus Christ is as natural as breathing. Surrendering to Christ is the completion of life, not the burden of life. No one really believes that Jesus Christ gave his life for everyone's sins so that we'd all have miserable existence and relationship with God, do they?
Stop believing some lie. It's time to kick back, loosen up and enjoy the feeling of that Spirit given fire that burns in you like the sun. For the joy-starved Christians of the world, it's time to feast at God's picnic table! And for those who don't have that personal relationship with Jesus Christ (notice I didn't say "religion", I said "relationship"), hey, you're invited to the party too!
Cheers!
Bill
