About Christina Berry
Mother and foster parent, I carve time to write from my busy schedule because I must tell the stories that haunt my every waking moment. (Such is the overly dramatic description of an author's life!) I hold a BA in Literature, yet love a good Calculus problem, as well. My debut novel, The Familiar Stranger, released from Moody in September, and is available online(Christian Book or Amazon) or in local bookstores. The book deals with lies, secrets, and themes of forgiveness in a troubled marriage.

I have been published in The Oregonian, The Secret Place, and Daily Devotions for Writers. A member of Oregon Christian Writers, American Christian Fiction Writers, and the Redeemed Writer's Critique Group, I love taking words out of my head so it's quieter in there. Stop by Ashberry Lane to read updates on the progress of my novels.

Most importantly, subscribe to the infrequent, humorous Ashberry Lane newsletter for a chance to win an iPod Shuffle or free autographed books for life! Visit my website or Posting with Purpose to find out even more about me.

Mommy-Daughter Date   11/17/2009 - 2:33 AM
I'm working almost full time this week, but Andrea has been asking for a mother-daughter date for months. Seriously. No exaggeration. I've had good intentions, but with fitting all of the rest of life in, I haven't had the time or opportunity to take... (login or sign up to read more)

I Don't Wanna Wake Up, I'm a Snooze-R-Us Kid   11/13/2009 - 6:46 PM
The crazy school schedule of this week has thrown us for a loop: Monday = full day, Tuesday = half day, Wednesday = no school, Thursday = half day, and Friday = no school. Waking the littlest one for preschool on Wednesday morning was not an easy... (login or sign up to read more)

And How Quickly I Fall!   11/12/2009 - 2:33 AM
Back into undisciplined posting, that is. Sixty out of sixty-one days on the tour, I believe, and then three posts since? I'm pitiful! Lately I'm behind because of subbing (wood shop, PE, and band were the latest), doing tons of paperwork for ... (login or sign up to read more)

A Very Egotisical Post   11/06/2009 - 9:51 PM
I did something today ... something spur of the moment. Totally out of character. Haven't done it for at least fourteen years. In the midst of a usual trim, all of a sudden I mentioned my desire to have bangs. And you know what that... (login or sign up to read more)

Fiddler in the Hallway   11/06/2009 - 2:12 AM
I've been on a musical kick with the kids lately. The latest LONG movie we conquered over three short viewings due to school nights was Fiddler on the Roof. It's a very dark musical, both clothing and setting-wise, but also story-wise by the end. ... (login or sign up to read more)

Yay, you're probably right! Second Momma always wants obedience first and explanations later. She's pretty strict!:)
Angel showing her horns and not her wings today?! Now tell me again why I want a few of those things?:)

I'm thinkin' maybe there are some monkey rescue organizations where we could find PAs we can train to do things OUR way.... Think of it: They'd work for peanuts (okay, bananas), and except for diapers, what would they need!

(If you hear of one before I do, share the info! LOL)

Thanks Christina! I was the keyliner for my college magazine, back before computers. Each year there were "banned" words that made the list for the magazine. These tended to be made-up words that had gotten into common usage but were awful, like literarily. Now I will have to go google it and see what turns up!

I'm excited for the day I have some TIME to read your book. The premise sounds so intriguing.

Isn't it exciting to hold that book in hand? This is the first of many for you, Christina. Hope you are doing all right. I know you've had some rough months, but I am CONFIDENT the Lord will continue to sustain you and your family.

Have you and your parents sold that beautiful house yet?

God's rich blessings on your life!

Shar

Aww, at least your book will hit affiliated Christian bookstore shelves right away and is probably already up for pre-order on CBD and places that automatically stock affiliated Christian fiction. ;)

Yup, I feel pretty sure about that. Of course I don't trust my feelings, just what God is capable of doing and His promises to us. Just remember me when you send out your announcements in a couple of years! God has been so good to so many people in healing their hearts and bringing them their true soul mate. And, He does answer prayers.....
