Kathi was born on Long Island, New York in the late 1960's, the youngest of three daughters. She has been writing from the time she was very young. She was a published poet at the age of six, and again during her high school years. In her thirties she became a Christian and her writing turned inspirational and found it's new niche on the internet. Her testimonies can be found throughout the web on various witnessing sites. Kathi's mother suffered from clinical depression and attempted suicide when Kathi was only three years old. After her parents divorced, her mother remarried an alcoholic, and attempted suicide again when she was a teenager. Mental illness continued to plague Kathi's life, both in family members (her sister's bipolar disorder, for example) and her own, as she suffers from major depressive disorder herself. Kathi married and had a family, settling in Cincinnati, Ohio. But in 2011 tragedy struck again when her then estranged husband, suffering from alcoholism and an addiction to prescription medications, died by suicide; he invited her in to witness this tragedy, and her and her daughters' lives were forever changed. After the shock dissipated she began a facebook community page entitled Survive To Thrive - Suicide Survivor Support/Suicide Awareness (www.facebook.com/survivetothrive ) in an effort to provide the unique kind of support that survivors of suicide require to move from surviving to thriving.
Kathi's losses and experiences with mental illness have had a tremendous impact on her writing and her motivation to reach and help others. God bless you, the reader, and may you feel the touch of the LORD and a peace that surpasses all understanding while you visit this profile.
