Sarah's Flight (2007)
Excerpt: "Bran grasped Sarah's hand to help her from the carriage. He watched the road for other travelers; other eyes that might see his treasure. He was glad for the darkness.

"Please, Sarah," he said, "keep the hood tight, and look away if anyone comes near." He helped her down and tugged her hood forward. Her face lay in shadow. He hoped she would obey and keep it thus. She was like a child in her innocence, this daughter of the sea.

"How far away is it?" she asked. Urgency filled her voice, her hand quivered in his. "I can smell it. Are we really so near?"

Bran pulled her to him as he began to walk towards the inn. Yes, the sea was near. Too near."

Appeared in AlienSkin Magazine, Spring Issue 2007
Servant of the Manthycore (written by Michael Ehart) (2007)

Michael Moorcock, creator of Elric, says this about The Servant of the Manthycore: "Michael Ehart has given us an outstanding story of the ancient world? It resonates with the authenticity of genuine myth, bringing a deep, true sense of the past; a conviction which does not borrow from genre but mines our profoundest dreams and memories; the kind which give birth to myths."

The book is enhanced by seven stunning interior illustrations by artist Rachel Marks. "Rachel has captured the essence of both the characters and the times," says Ehart. "She has that rare ability to capture in pen and ink the visual sense of the words on the page." Marks also did the cover art.

About Rachel A. Marks
Rachel Marks (a.k.a. Pixydust to all her author and artist friends) is the mother of four wonderful children, wife to the most amazing guy on the planet, and a recent cancer survivor. She loves to ride dirt bikes with her family and owns a quilting art business called, Pixy's Garden, designing bags and other fun crazy accoutrements. Being a native SoCal girl, she grew up at the beach, playing in tide pools and reveling in the ocean--she even fancied herself a mermaid at one time. Thank you for the message mamm. I see that you're also an artist. I have an idea for the cover of my first book UnLocked Secrets: The Beginning which another author friend of mine and I are currently editing. By the way how did you get contracted with Double Edged Publishing?

Heck yes I'm right about Falling Up!! :) They are my most favorite of all time!! I love Jessy Ribordy's voice. My friends and I are trying to figure out how to get them here before the end of the year. It'd be amazing.
I haven't heard the new Decyfer Down or the new Muse... Darn. Lol! But I did listen to the new Skillet. I just have no iTunes monies to buy it.. :(
I didn't even have enough for the all the new BarlowGirl, which is pretty epic by the way...

Lol! Yeah... I'm really tired of it. But my friends and I are still gonna go see New Moon, prolly just to sit and have a good laugh. But it might be good... Dakota Fanning is so pretty in the previews!

I shall try to read it.
First I must finish Fragile Eternity. Then on the sixth The Van Alen Legacy is coming out (same day as Relient K's new album!) and I must read that! I love Oliver Hazard-Perry!

I'm doing ok... I guess... Just trying to figure out all the college stuff, keeping my grades up, and staying away from the creepy guy that's following me... LOL!
How are you?

I'm really wanting to read The Willow Door again. But the computer I have it saved on is ancient and slow. Haha!! I took a picture on my phone of the poster thing you sent me of Laney and Falcon, and it's my screen saver. So all my friends get to see your amazingness and I get the chance to brag about what an awesome person I know. :)
