The experts say that, for the most part, exercise is good for you. And you should do as much of it as possible, every day. Walk, run, jog, bike, swim... doesn't matter how you do it, they insist, long as you DO IT!
Okay, thought I. You spend all day sitting in front of a computer, not moving much but your fingers. The negative results? Snug jeans and a couple of shirts that don't button. That, along with a glimpse of me in that outfit in the 5' mirror behind my bedroom door was inspiration enough for me.
I took the bait.
Bought one of those 'get on your knees, roll forward on the floor' things that promised to flatten my tummy. Got a pair of 8 lb. dumbbells. Some weighty things to strap around my ankles and wrists. And a DVD guaranteed to fire up my enthusiasm to use all of the above.
Today was the 3rd week of my Improve Loree program. Got up a 5 and, while the coffee was perking, I donned my weights and put on my DVD, rarin' to burn off those chocolate chip cookies I stuffed into my face right before bedtime.
Well, dear Shoutlife friends... a word of warning:
Make sure that if you make a pot of coffee before grabbing your 8 lb. weights...
... you DRY. YOUR. HANDS.
If you need proof, just think about the toes of my left foot still throbbing.
On the bright side?
I've been thinking about painting my office, and the bruise is the prettiest shade of blue I've ever seen!
So tomorrow, I might just hobble on over to Home Depot, where I'll prop my fat foot on a paint bucket and tell the kid behind the counter, "Match THAT!"
Big warm hugs to you, my new Shoutlife friend!
Eyes on Him,
(1 Corinthians 10:13)
