About Jewels Petrie
I was born in the heart of the Pennsylvania coal country, and raised around the Harrisburg area. God ordered my steps and brought me to Reading, PA and back to HIM sometime in January of 2005. By February of 2006, God began blessing me with original music and devotionals. It is my desire to evangelize the world, proclaiming the life-changing power of restoration that God provides, through devotionals, my testimony, and musical worship. I am forever humbled and grateful to be a vessel bringing forth the Word of God through the musical and literary Gems!

The devotional book that is the companion to this CD can be bought through www.gemsfromthejewelrybox.com!

Hi Jewel. I agree that Reading is a wierd place! I live in Wernersville and used to work as a Paramedic in the city. Oh, the stories I have....
By the way, great voice.

Hello again and thanks for writing / sharing! Essentially, I get called / invited as a worship leader to various churches or through my network of contacts / friends I get hooked up with people or churches that need a guitarist, bassist and or worship leader. But I also search out and inquirer about the possibility of booking / ministry opportunities at coffeehouses in the tri-state (PA, DE, NY, Nj). Last weekend I played three events (fri, sat, and sun) and last wednesday I led worship @ God Quest; I was tired this week but God's presence was there and his angels ministered to those attending, not to mention that it was a great time of fellowship as well.
This Friday I'm @ PBC Cafe in Pottstown, then @ Casa Delight in Philly mid Oct,, then worship @ Pottstown Bible and God Quest at the end of the month. If you were close I'd ask you to join us.
Regarding connecting w/churches, venues, or coffeehouses, I'd search the web for what's close and then inquire about their booking policy and start building relationships with those contacts. Again, if you were close, I'd hook you up with a couple of gigs.
Are you on IndieHeaven? I think Keith could help out... let me know what you think about my suggestions.

Hello again and thanks for writing back! I lead worship for God Quest and at Pottstown Bible Church mostly, but then I was in Philly this past Sunday leading worship @ Lighthouse Ministries. It just depends where I'm called to go and serve. And how about you; do you lead worship at your church or other churches in the area or are you maninly originals?

Hi there... Hope all is well! Thanks for writing! Essentially, I contact churches or coffeehouses asking about possible booking opportunities. If not that way, it's through my network of people that I deal with on a constant basis; churches that I've helped and then they want me to lead worship, people suggest to someone that I lead worship, not to mention that I've been running my coffeehouse, the Agora Cafe, since 2000 which has opened a lot of doors as well. Hope this helps.
Are looking for opportunites to minister? Do you have a press kit and or websites?

Hi Jewels,

My book was published first so I set up an author account. I asked Shoutlife if there was a way to upload MP3's on an author page when my CD became available and they advised me to set up a music artist page to display my music. Thus, I did not include my middle name on the artist page.

Thanks for the music complement. :)

I hope you have a joyous Sunday!
