JOE HAND is an accomplished singer, songwriter, performer and producer (especially regarding his work in the Catholic music market-where he is best known for writing the theme song to EWTN's LIFE ON THE ROCK). But what you may not know
is that this is a man dedicated to his faith
and the journey he's been on, while growing in his personal relationship with God.
JOE HAND was introduced to music at the young age of 7. He was a quick study with interests in all instrumentation, but specifically piano, bass, woodwinds and guitar. His passion for music led him to prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Regardless of his classical training, Joe eventually found himself touring with a rock band. Although he had many wonderful experiences with this venture he knew deep in his heart that he was being "called" to create music that would inspire others to seek the great love and mercy of Jesus. It was not long thereafter that he dedicated his music to the Lord.
JOE HAND was blessed by this decision and has gone on to record multiple CD projects with significant sales success. In 2004, he released EVERYTHING AND NOTHING, his first solo project after a 5 year hiatus. His theme for this project was inspired by scripture, but also addresses issues that we are faced with in troubling times. At first glance, Joe seems cynical by what society thrusts upon us, but in deeper reflection you can see clearly that he is overwhelmed with the idea that his true calling is to serve the Lord by serving others. He does this first and foremost by desiring mercy, the premise of the first track on the CD. His passion for ministry also comes alive in Ballad of the Well Worn Jacket. This song tackles one of our most serious issues
homelessness! Just recently JOE HAND launched a major IMPACT PROJECT by giving away 100% of the proceeds from downloading this song through ITUNES. These funds will be distributed to 3 organizations that work tirelessly for the homeless in our country and in Joe's own backyard. On this CD you'll also hear his passion for worship in I Want to Worship You. Those seeking to live a hardcore life for Christ will certainly understand why Joe cries "Glory Lord" in the chorus of this song.
JOE HAND recently released a new CD (2005) based on his yearlong study of the Psalms. This CD, appropriately titled, PSALMS, is an eclectic mix of musical styles but the common thread will once again focus on scripture with each track labeled a specific Psalm which will (hopefully) encourage further reading of the Bible. Some critics have already called this "a perfect devotional". Others have said the songs are "perfect for a contemporary liturgical setting."
JOE HAND has performed at numerous concert events. Internationally he has appeared in Croatia, Canada, New Zealand and most recently, Australia. He caters each concert for his appropriate audience, whether it is in a parochial school, a youth event, a young adult/college setting or for a concert for a more mature listener. His show will provoke a variety of emotions for those willing to let themselves travel his journey with him. JOE HAND has shared the stage with many well known Catholic, Evangelical and Secular artists including John Michael Talbot, Ginny Owens, and Mason Proffit.
Aside from writing and performing, JOE HAND is also a well known producer in the Nashville area. Recent clients include Ceili Rain, Terry Talbot, Curb Records, Joe Hellriegel, Robin English, Scott Hendricks, Eric Prestidge, Linkin' Park, Ed Seay, Sony Records, Warner Brothers Records, Tommy Townsend, Waylon Jennings, Dennis Linde, the Princeton NJ symphony, and many more.
