About Tom Mulreaney
Marzieh & Maryam

In a jail in Tehran are them girls praising God,
`cause their only crime was to say the name of Christ.

Daughter of mine in the Sunday school, learning about them saints of old.
Daughter of mine, now don't be fooled ~ the world is still so, so cruel.

Marzieh & Maryam ~ shout their names from coast-to-coast.
Maryam & Marzieh ~ all alone `cept for the Holy Ghost. the Holy Ghost. the Holy Ghost.

Holy, Holy, Holy.

Marzieh Amirizadeh and Maryam Rustampoor were arrested on March 5th in Tehran and are now being held in cramped cells in Evin prison. Neither have been charged, but there is no doubt they are being held because both are witnessing Christians from a Muslim background. This was confirmed when a prison official told them, "You should be executed because you are apostates."

The two are suffering: at first they were held together in a very crowded cell with 27 others, and now they are in solitary confinement in two-by-two meter cells. One can only imagine the horrors they are going through. Despite all this their faith in Christ has not wavered. One said, "I've taken up my cross, I now have to bear it."

This song was given to me by God after seeing a poster on my church's mission board about these two girls. Having daughters myself, the Holy Spirit just really touched my heart and I started piecing together various song ideas and riffs that resulted in this tune. I plan on recording a downloadable version to help spread the word about those in the world still suffering for Christ's sake. While we all need to voice protest over treatment such as this, the (strange as it seems)reality is that we are to rejoice with them in their persecution. Pray for them and all who are in similar situations that Christ will be glorified.

Songwriter/guitarist/recording engineer/producer/vocalist with a multitude of styles (mainly acoustic/electric rock). Themes encompass P&W & Dry Spells & Doubts & Love & Loss & Anger & Joy & Heartbreak & Amusement (or is that Bemusement?) & etc. & etc & etc. Will be releasing a commercially available CD sometime in the Autumn. More info to follow as date draws closer.

Not all who wander are lost. - J. R. R. Tolkien The Lord of the Rings

.... being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. - The Apostle Paul Letter to the Phillipians NIV Study Bible

[He said,] If you turn around my child, you'll see that stream right behind you ~ go fish! - Tom Mulreaney fishin' blues

God has certainly taken me on a long and scenic route: From accepting Jesus at a young age to finally starting my music ministry at a not so young age, I have wandered and often wondered where He was (and is) leading me. In my teens and early twenties, I had a passion to become a missionary in some remote part of the world, but life carried on and it never materialised. In my mid twenties and early thirties, working in myriad occupations, I often lost sight of the pillar of fire and chose my own paths. But God is faithful and never let me fall off of those cliff edges I sometimes went too near. Then marriage and children (5) helped me re-center my sights on the Lord. I never stopped writing songs, although playing out had to be put on a back burner for a while. Prior to the time the economy started crashing, I was really restless in my soul and pleading with God to 'let me get on with what I do best'. Through a series of lay-offs, an offer from a minor label and other openings and closings of various doors, I'm trusting God that the timing is finally right....

Hey Tom! The feature to change the order of the tracks is not working. Sorry to say at the moment the only way is to re upload them in the order you want them.

Tom,

Thank you for the friends' request & the nice words about my music (I wrote them all). Listened to your music & I hear a bit of a Beatle's influence. You should check out Christopher Ames (he's here on Shoutlife). He has a lot of Beatle's influence in some of his older music. He's actually in New York, not far from you (at least not in comparison to Texas-Smile). Anyways, he's probably one of my favorite Indi "Male" solo artists. A very talented & nice guy w/a humble heart & ministry oriented. Have a blessed day!

In Christ,

"Tawana"

Tom,

"One for the King" is truly beautiful. Hard to believe you did it in only one take. That just shows the goodness of God. Gosh, I wish sometimes that I was gifted like that...to be able to write and play music like that. I love it Tom...please let me know when the full CD is available. Your music puts me into such a great mood.
