About Chris Lucas

I'm a finger-style guitar player who's got more musical heroes than Jesse James had notches on his gun, but my biggest hero is Jesus Christ, the Master Musician.
I keep busy working a job at a newspaper, gigging, composing songs and instrumentals, arranging, and playing on other people's CD's. Every once in a while I'll do one of my own. I've had some academic musical training, and my music can come from many different directions. I think people call that "eclectic." My songs delve into matters of the heart, soul, and spirit, exploring life through the eyes of a person with conviction. In other words .... a real person, living real life, with its challanges and triumphs, successes and shortcomings. Somebody else wrote those last couple of lines - I must be a pretty sensitive type. My music does come from the acoustic end of the spectrum.
I mostly play in the Virginia area, occasionally branching out wherever the branches take me. Around here I've opened for a ton of amazing artists, Christian and secular.
Here in Richmond, I live with my wife, Sue (or Sioux), and our 21 year-old Lindsey, who is our little autistic stay-at-home blessing. I have an older daughter living in North Carolina.
I also perform something I wrote called THE 3-PENNY CANTATA. You'll have to go to my website to read about that (www.chrislucas.net).

Enjoy your stay. Blessings to all and glad tidings tae ye!
