General Interests
Reading, writing, [but not 'rithmatic :-)], general history but particularly First World War and Victorian era, and anything that pertains to research regarding Fragile X Syndrome.
Music
Mercy Me, Chris Tomlin, Sara Groves, and lots more whose names escape me at the moment.
Books
Too many to list! I've read lots of the best known CBA authors like Francine Rivers, Robin Lee Hatcher, Karen Kingsbury but I also read a bit outside the Christian market. Loved Peace Like A River by Leif Enger and understand he's finally coming out with a new one soon. Also loved the curious incident of the dog in the night-time (no caps intentional) by Mark Haddon, and Kim Edward's book The Memory Keeper's Daughter. I've read some of Jodi Picault but was disappointed in My Sister's Keeper. I'll pick up another one by her someday. Right now I'm reading The Good Nearby, a Christian novel by Nancy Moser and loving it.
Movies/TV
I use TV for my news source, but that's about it. I don't see many movies but I do have a few old classics that I love - Wings (a silent movie, the very first Academy Award winner), Mister 880, The Sound of Music, Chocolat, Return To Me, LadyHawke (when I was into studying medieval times - great visuals!) and every version of Pride and Prejudice I've ever seen (three and counting).
Published Works

On Sparrow Hill takes up where The Oak Leaves finished...
As the commercial manager for Quentin Hollinworth's family estate, Rebecca Seabrooke is focused on just two things: making hers the most successful historic home in the country and forgetting the childhood crush she's had on Quentin since her father worked as his family's valet. After all, they don't exactly run in the same social circles.

But when she and Quentin uncover letters in the family vault written by Berrie Hamilton?one of Quentin's ancestors?Rebecca discovers that Quentin isn't the only one with a legacy to appreciate. Only Berrie's words can prepare Rebecca for the dramatic turn her life is about to take.

About Maureen Lang
I never decided to become a writer, I've just been one ever since I can remember. I'm told I was telling stories before I learned how to read.

In my early writing days I joined Romance Writers of America, entered the Golden Heart contest and won for best historical romance (secular). That book was contracted the same year, followed by two more with that publisher. But life took some turns for me and I ended up a single mom, rejoining the "real" working world. I didn't write for fifteen years.

Once life settled down again I knew I'd only write for the Lord, if I ever wrote again. The Lord did call me back to writing and since then it's been an adventure. I won the Noble Theme Award - American Christian Fiction Writer's predecessor to the Genesis award, and soon after received my first contract for a book set during the First World War.

On a personal note, I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, mom to three kids, one of whom has Fragile X Syndrome, a form of genetic mental retardation. The Lord never promised to spare us from trouble, so I'm deeply grateful He's there to see us through!
