CHRISTIAN ACTIVITIES MAGAZINE got its humble start as the one-page photocopied handout, the "Koinonia Concert Calendar," in the 1980s when publisher
Kathryn E. Darden worked at Koinonia Coffeehouse and Bookstore in Nashville, Tennessee. After leaving Koinonia, Darden was encouraged to continue compiling and publishing Christian concert and event information.

Launched in 1992 as a newsletter serving Nashville's Christian music industry, the four-page publication
Christian Activities Nashville quickly grew into a 16 - 20-page statewide magazine. By 1996,
Christian Activities Magazine was already being distributed in Alabama and had launched its online presence. In 1997,
Christian Activities began distribution in parts of Kentucky and Georgia.
Christian Activities Online was introduced at the end of 1995 and has undergone several manifestations before becoming the comprehensive Christian website
ChristianActivities.com.
