About Me
Quiet, Eccentric, Intelligent, Trustworthy, Adventurous...

I'm a quiet person, but when I do speak, I try to say something meaningful. I try my best to be nice to all of mankind, the way that Jesus would. I'm a huge anime fan, and a huge wrestling fan. Maybe wrestling is my path. My two favorite wrestlers are Shawn Michaels, and Sting, who are born-again christians. Only God can take something as violent as wrestling, and allow his followers to reach the masses through it. I'm also an avid writer, and I plan on publishing some books some day. Thanks for stopping by, and God bless you all.

-Ken

Thanks. :)

I'll probably just work on college applicaton essays this weekend, the deadline is coming up. Sounds like you're going to have a wonderful weekend though. :) Have fun.

That's awesome about the lamp! :) It's great when something like that happens. I keep coming up with good ideas too, I need to make sure I write them down.

The plot point generator I found is just a webpage and the person who made it compiled a list of things that are vague enough that they could be thrown into a story (like "Pirates attack", "Give your character a debilitating phobia", or "Someone's a mole") and set it up with a random generator thing. So you go through until you find something that sparks some inspiration. A lot of them are stuff you've already thought of but others are pretty interesting. I go through them when I'm bored and try to figure out how to implement them. I've also seen books just full of vague or incomplete plot points.

And an expert wizard knows how rarely there's nothing to worry about when dealing with magic. :P

That's great, how did the light from your lamp help you? I patched through a plothole that had been driving me crazy lately last night. I had been looking at a ramdom plot point generator and it said something about mother nature not caring about my character's predicament. The patching had nothing to do with mother nature though. xD

And yes, a female wizard. But that's some pretty far-reaching awesomeness, perhaps I should reign it in before someone gets hurt. Casting spells on oneself is risky business...

An android, eh? Well I'm a peace wizard and I age slowly. 991 years is nothin'. :P Actually, my friends and I couldn't decide if I was a peace wizard or not, but signs point to yes. Second choice would be a ligth wizard like Kale though. Either way, it's always nice to see the worlds of science and the worlds of fantasy meet.

And good luck on reaching 40,000 words, how's the story going? Are you enjoying it?
Penpusher on 11/19/09 - 8:02 PM
Ha, maybe. I'm glad you got some words in. :)

And she was able to get at least five votes, if we'd gotten the paper at the same time as everyone else she might've been able to do it.

And how would you know I didn't miss much? Were you alive all those 991 years?

Haha, I'm glad you think I'm cool, you should share that knowledge with the kids at my school. :P My dad use to have a ton of comics but he sold them before I had a chance to read them. :( I guess I just have to start my own collection.

I'm having a great night. We're voting for the Senior Superlatives right now and one of my friends who wears a hijab to school is trying to get voted for Best Hair. I think it'd be great if she got enough votes to win, it'd be like we punked the yearbook. How's your night going?

Hahaha, ruin my coolness by turning me into a geek? I don't think there's any fear of that. I read the dictionary for fun and dictionaries and thesauruses (thesauri?) are always on my wish list right next to the books and video games. There is no hope for my coolness. lol

That sounds amazing. And of course Spiderman is against it. I'll look for them. :)

I think it's more literary violence. I was shocked when I read it, but I still enjoyed it. I don't know what that says about me... I guess it's easier to feel sorry for someone when they're getting beat up.

I love stuff about the Civil War, I might have to track down these comics.
Penpusher on 11/18/09 - 7:49 PM
The comics I like reading the best make me sad and want to cry. Haha. My cousin has a bunch of Batman comics and he lets me read them sometimes if I'm careful and don't hurt them. There's a particular issue concerning the demise of yet another Robin that I've been obsessed with since reading. It's so sad. ...^_^;

Good job on reaching 30,000 words though! I had a great train of thought and inspiration going a few nights ago until a spider scared the train off the tracks. :\ I managed to salvage the content, but not the words. I'm working on it though. I found a plot point generator that I find is good for inspiration.

Haha, thank you. :) And I'll remember to keep my glasses handy when I go on safari if that's the case.
Penpusher on 11/18/09 - 12:01 AM
I don't get them for two weeks, but I'll do a little compare and contrast thing for you. :P The ones I have now are black plastic frames and green on the inside. The new ones are metal and also black, and for some strange reason the inside of the part that fits behind the ears is zebra striped. I have no idea what the purpose of that is since no one will see the stripes if they're behind my ears unless I shave my head (which isn't gonna happen soon. Probably). I hope they're awesome enough for my face, I wouldn't want another coup. They kind of make me look like a librarian or someone who reads the great literary classics, which I guess is alright since I want to major in english. :)

That's awesome. :) Good luck.

I've been good, I ordered some new glasses yesterday, so I'm excited for those to get here.

I'm not even actually doing NaNo and the need to edit is driving me crazy too. I've allowed myself to fix minor grammar things as I read through what I've written beforehand, though. Be strong, I know you can make it. :)
Penpusher on 11/11/09 - 10:40 PM
That's true, well keep on keepin on. I wrote two paragraphs today. While it's not much, I think it does a good job of revealing more about the viewpoint character and his relationship with the other person in the scene.
Penpusher on 11/11/09 - 3:15 PM
Ha! That's pretty good, I rarely write 2500 words in a day.
Penpusher on 11/11/09 - 1:29 PM
Yeah, I've been anticipating a second assault so the books have been removed from the high ground every night and placed in a non-threatening position. Constant vigilance!

Good luck with your writing, how's that been going?
Penpusher on 11/11/09 - 2:29 AM
Haha, smart books. They know eliminating the glasses won't eliminate my ability to read. Very clever... But yeah, it was nice to have glasses today. I failed to get pictures before we fixed them though, that's my only regret. xD

And yeah, I've had whole scenes written out in the margins of notebooks before.
