Carlson Family Ministries was formed and started in 1985 and have been singing ever since. Don Carlson was born in Chicago and was placed for adoption in a christian home but later in his life he got caught up in drugs and alcohol and was also homeless living on the streets and sleeping in parks and inside park restrooms at night to stay warm he also dropped out of high school to help his mom as his dad passed away. He gave his heart to the lord in 1984. Before giving his heart to the Lord he sang secular music in bars and lounges and is also a former Elvis Presley Tribute Artist he still sings Elvis Presley Gospel songs as well as other Southern Gospel/ Country Christian Music and he met a girl named Gina Rich they got married in May of 1985 and they started Champion Ministries in 1991 in Northwest Indiana to help the homeless and needy as well as building a home for abused children in Medaryville,Indiana they helped start the Southern Gospel music get started at Liesuretime Gospel Theme park in Medaryville, Indiana where they had a Gospel Sing once a month then it got filled up so much they had to do it twice a month this was all done on a free will offering basis and The Sarah Emily Jackson Home for Abused Children was built through the offerings taken as all the offerings were donated to the home and getting it built. They later switched the name to Carlson Family Ministries/ Champion Ministries .The Carlson Family is the Founder of Champion Ministries.Serving the true champion Jesus our Lord and Saviour. In June of 2007 while working a lady in a Jeep Liberty backed out of a parking space and while backing up she hit the whole left side of Don's body knocking him to the ground and he was in the hospital for 6 hours God came through and helped him recover he still has aches and pains but he deals with them with Gods help. We love our dear friends Johnathan and Ginger Bond (Young Harmony) very much we thank them for allowing us the opportunity to let us become friends with them and for giving us the oppurtunity to know them. We travel on a free will offering. We also do Benefits and that has been our biggest thing due to the way the economy has been and people having high hospital bills and also being in need of other supplies that foodstamps cannot purchase.
